Appreciate this response mate. I am well, hope you're going well also. Yeah I definitely turned a blind eye in the end to things in relation to you that I wouldn't have allowed against anyone else. Was petty as fuck to say the least and not right.

Hey mate. Not sure if you remember but I was a bit of a dick to you on a personal level at times. I'm sorry, it wasn't cool. On the question side of things, What was your drive to get DF to the top?
  3. Oh wow. Honestly I thought I'd been mostly forgotten about at this point. Ok so after reading through a bit of the thread that touched on Corruption, Demonchild27 (Tom) and Myself. I was definitely not active at an in game level or even in regards to much of the membership for the back end of my existence in CoR. I was however still handling and helping with a lot of the backend and technical end of CoR and still felt heavily invested in the direction of the clan after having spent so long in it and leading it. Was this something I should have done? In my head at the time absolutely, Corruption was like my baby, I wasn't going to let it turn into something I didn't want it to. Almost 2 decades later I've matured enough to realise that when you end a chapter in your life, it's best to step back from it and let it run its course, not fall for a sunk-cost fallacy. Demonchild27 and I worked well together because we were similar people, the timezones may have helped with that and maybe the country we were brought up with also contributed to having similar mindsets but overall there were lines we could both agree do not get crossed, both in respect to the game and just how you were as a person. In game it was important to us that we won in a fair manner, not through what we perceived as dirty tactics. We wanted to be the best but we also wanted to be the best in a FAIR fight. Outside the game but in the forums / TS / etc neither of us had much patience for hatred in regards to racism, sexism, nazi jokes, etc and that certainly caused a bit of conflict at times with some people as being an edgelord seemed to be part of the package for the average scaper back then. Was I well respected or hated? I was both. Respected: In my hey day (when I was putting in 60 hour weeks into the clan), those in the leadership around me were on the same page and we made it work. The members that stood by the Corruption name and contributed were made to feel as a family and rewarded with content, respect and a dynamic environment. Someone in CoR being targeted with sexist / racist harassment? Fuck no that's not tolerated. It might be the internet but that's still a human being. Clans started crashing? I'd make it my business to network with other clans to establish Anticrash units to keep fights cleaner. Smaller clans need some advice and help? Yeah I'd reach out to them and do what I could to give them a hand out of game with forum hosting, etc. Your clan getting DDoS'ed by some fuckwit? Yeah I'll show you some workarounds to get it back online while their botnet is costing them. We turn a profit on ads and have some excess after hosting costs are covered? Let's do XBOX giveaways. Clan support non existent? Let's fight for it! (fuck did that backfire...) Don't forget I came back to CoR many years earlier along with 4 others and stayed the course to revive the clan from death. We had 30~ members with a very low average level when I took the reigns. I (along with a variety of leaders over the years) stayed the course and brought the clan into the top 3. Keith got us into the top spot. Hated: In game I was fucking despised by many because I would use manufactured rivalries as a tool to advance our clan. Anarchy are kicking around? fuck yeah, let's destroy them, hunt them down and make their lives hell, let's try to make them disband. MK being cocky? oh we're going to train up, recruit and prepare for our fights with them because they think they'll walk all over us. DF? Well that one backfired because they made that work as much to their advantage as we did to ours. Then of course there's the back end of my time in CoR. I was getting my shit together in real life and really didn't have much time to devote so feeling I needed to still help that time was spent on the back end and in direct communication with the leadership and some of the member base that I already knew. If you joined the clan during my less active years you probably had every right to dislike me. I didn't earn your respect like I had with those members during my active years. If you didn't know me from then, I was just some dick who barked orders and threw more then my 2 cents in when it wasn't even asked for (in your eyes). I called a lot of people and clans out on behaviour I viewed as "dishonourable" (crashing, etc). For many such as RoT it was a game and they could do whatever they wanted. I was a pretty toxic dick to some people as well. I regret that and unreservedly apologise to anyone I was overly cruel and crossed the line with (Lego is the main one I can think of). I was flat out arrogant at times. That would not have helped. Anyway at the end of the day this was all so long in the past, I personally don't hold any ill will towards people from that era. I understand we were just a bunch of mostly teenagers that got drawn into Runescape like a crack addict and did silly things to get our fix. Most people I've kept any type of tabs on from CoR seem to have turned out to be really good people and I'm proud of them for that, I'm sure most of you have gone on to achieve or are in the process of achieving stable lives for yourselves, with the exception of covid putting some brakes on things for people. Love you all, Rob. Edit: On a side note can I also add that Tom is really a genuine and nice guy. He's got such a clean head on his shoulders and is an absolute asset to humanity in every way shape and form. Say what you want about him in regards to CoR (I think he was one of the clans greatest, if not THE greatest asset the clan had overally) but as a human being he's just a champ.
  4. As a leader of a clan in the game? I've actually got alot of respect for him. He did really well for a long time and gave it his all. In regards to his personal life? I probably should have let that be, his business is his, I didn't really have any right to drag that into the game and some of the things I said publicly were over the line. The lengths I went to in order to spy on other clans. Honestly at one point I brute-forced some passwords on forums. That was as dirty as I got. I doubt those people would want to go week in, week out to trips.
  5. Simply put, it was time to grind Real life and get some levels in the financial, relationship and work stats. I couldn't really focus on those levels while being involved in runescape. Hard grind but it worked out alright for me.
  6. Dave had some involvement in the clan for years after he stepped away from the game. I'm not sure what he does these days. He was definitely one of the most important officials in CoR's history. xhitpointzx got banned from the game on all his accounts for botting on a low level. He sort of faded away from the game after that which is a shame because he was a very strong leader. Mod Mat K deserves the credit for keeping the clan world relevant at all. Without him clans would never have gone for as long as they did as successfully as they did. The clan rallies were fun though, I remember thining that it was a joke that clans were such a big part of the game at the time and yet there was no support. I figured if we all spoke up as one voice somehow that people at Jagex might actually put some small amount of work into giving us a few features such as clan chat. I organised some rallies for us to roam around in game and effectively take over one of the Runescape Servers, hoping that some J mods would take notice and have a chat. It worked. Jagex removed the wilderness along with making some changes to bring some clan support not long after. I think the wilderness was always going to go due to real world trading issues but Mod Mat K has the best take on what exactly motivated those decisions.
  7. I have no regrets. Sure my time could have been better spent but what's the point of dwelling on that? I had fun during those years, they were a unique experience and I feel some of that time helped mould my views and temperament. I think I'd do it all again, maybe with a little more structure and control.
  8. From memory we had some minor beef with DF early on, I can't even remember what it was but for whatever reason we decided we were going to end them. We showed up whenever they set foot in the wilderness for months. We decimated them, it wasn't even fair... Thing is they kept coming back, again and again, time after time and eventually they started winning. That hurt our ego. From that point on it was a back and forth between us. That level of hatred seemed to bring out the best in both clans as far as performance, attendance and just the thirst for the win. The second thing that kept it going was that DF and CoR were actually REALLY similar in their mindsets around "Honour" in the game. Neither wanted a win that wasn't earnt fairly so both sides would butt heads within their defined rules and expectations, This meant that despite all that hatred neither clan would resort to things like DDoS'ing to win (although spying on each other was common). In their prime? Jayjay and applerune would have been great to work alongside with them at their prime and myself at mine. That said I worked with most of CoR's leadership at some point over the years. To truly have someone that didn't overlap with me I'd have to go back to the founders, Leading during the classic era would have been interesting (I played during that but just as a member). Do I miss CoR? Yes. Do I miss leading? Yes. What would entice me to the clan again? Nothing within Runescape, Maybe if we shifted to a more casual game I'd be interested. I mostly play shooters these days, my stints on MMO's are brief at best now. We used our name as spam plenty early on, I guess at some point it became much more efficient to simply type the persons name? The biggest challenge was the split-off clans. We addressed this through bringing fresh blood into the clan consistently and in huge numbers, then culling off the inactives and slowly raising requirements as we stabalised. Structure, I have been involved in several clans on several MMO's and it always comes down to having a concrete set of rules and a leadership with integrity. If you don't have those two things your clan is going to fall apart. Also be ready to be betrayed for power. Yeah Jay and Applerune are best to answer that one. I'm now married and up until this recent lockdown in my city my time was mostly spent at work, with the wife, excercising or gaming in very casual games. Games I play: DayZ PUBG LoL CS Albion (not much, mostly update some trades on there to make money for no reason) Anything that takes my fancy at the time that others are playing.
  9. Ghjjf, Brian committed the most time and effort I've ever seen into ensuring his clan was a lasting legacy in the game. He nailed the P2P end of the game down so damn well for so many years. We'd have been unstoppable. Enough to pay for an Xbox now and then, to cover the licensing costs of Invision forums (yes we actually paid for software!) and to pay upto $120 a month for a dedicated server for the clan and Teamspeak costs. I think it ranged from $70 - $300 a month in revenue. Every last cent was spent on Corruption. I believe some insanely generous members also helped pay for the clans costs over the years. The Xbox's were run during times of profit to burn off the extra funds. No regrets. The fun was in the journey with Corruption and the challenges we overcame. I'd have done nothing differently in regards to actions but I felt my personal attitude was not good enough at times in the clan. We enjoyed fighting everyone, we REALLY enjoyed fighting clans bigger then us and we REALLY REALLY enjoyed fighting clans that we hated and that were bigger then us. DF seems to be the peak of matching up to us. We absolutely slammed them for a long time but they kept coming back for more, until one day they started beating us. DS exploited our weaknesses the best, just as soon as we started a rivalry with them and wanted to get into it with them (they were #1 at the time), they fucking closed up shop, we REALLY wanted to start some fights with them. Yeah no idea where he got multiple clans from, and who could forget the pink dragons?!
  10. You didn't get it? I posted it out to the leader of the green knights ages ago, you should have gotten it by now. 11. Fuck all three. Hard <3. The Rad thing was messy, I barely remember specifics about it other then huge, lengthy discussions behind closed doors but I don't really regret any of the decisions I made during my time in leadership. Once a decision was made and feelings were hurt there was no going back on it, no room for second guessing yourself. It was best for everyone to move on and focus on the next problem. Favorite officials? I really can't name just a few. There's just so damn many over the years. I can't believe I forgot Danny_boy and Andy4309 in my first answer btw! I seriously have so much respect for every official I worked with over the years, even the ones I kicked. The Xbox360 thing was great, I wish I could have gotten the ball rolling better with that and made it a monthly thing for our entire existance with different prizes. Being able to reward our members with something like that once in a blue moon was nice, despite the jealousy shown from other clans. At the time I was against the closing, I didn't care about the clan being the best anymore I just cared that it existed, In reality it didn't matter that much, It was just hard to let go of something that had so much of my time and effort attached to it. I personally would not have been involved in Runescape past that point either way. I can't remember this one. Clans closure - people needing to move on with their lives and a general consensus from the active members that it was time. We had that chance, There's plenty of us that could have revived Corruption but the reality is none of us have / had the time to do that. Who is La Hire 44?
  12. Behind the scences - We'd host karaoke's on our teamspeak now and then, I remember alot of us singing some pretty horrible, off-beat tunes. Enzock - Appreciate his efforts along with every other officials. 1. What was your lowest moment in Cor? Probably some of the set-backs very early on when I took over, we had almost all our original members leave to make break-off clans, Things were an absolute mess when Myself and a few others stepped back in to try and revive CoR in the early years. See'ing groups of 10 - 20 people leave to make another clan when you'd just spend weeks trying to rebuild was gutting. 4. I can't remember what happened to Basebas and why he left, do you recall? I actually can't remember that one. Being able to have other games we'd play as a group was overall a good thing for us, Towards the back end of my leadership I actually was pushing in the background to expand corruption away from just focusing on Runescape and into being a gaming community across a broad range of games. Different wings in different games. This idea ended up not sitting well with alot of the other leadership so I eventually dropped it. My opinion now is that having a group of people that enjoyed playing games together was the most important thing. If that means being slightly less successful in one particular game I am overall fine with that. Back then during the chopa issues, etc I was probably more about the pure success of the clan in Runescape.
  13. Most memorable / favorite memory from Corruption? There's so damn many, Probably watching xHitpointzx kill someone for a partyhat early on. He posted a thread on it with kill pics and all and NO ONE ever believed him lmao! He later got that account banned along with every other account he had because he ran a levelling script on a low level character back when making a character with just one stat of Strength was a thing (people called them pure characters i think?). We had a guy called "The man" in Corruption, it was quite clear from his stories that he would destroy us all IRL in a fight.
