Back,  the unknown is cool and it would be amazing to go forward but who knows how long we will last on this planet. go  too far forward and you're stuck with nothing.

 

At least if you go back you could live out a life with superior knowledge and maybe even change the course of history for giggles like kill hitler or stalin. Or strangle @Hatebreederin his cradle.
