A lot easier to pump in periodic content updates than develop an entirely new game. They'd just further separate their player base since they already have two versions of the main game. I suppose the closest 'sequel' to RS2 was when they introduced EoC, but even then it wasn't a new game, just a complete rework of mechanics. We all love this game becuase it's not rs3 and it's the same game we grew up playing. That being said I'd love to see better looking graphics.
