Rams 11 Posted May 29, 2022 Share Posted May 29, 2022 Let it never be forgotten that Steven Gerrard literally said "this does not slip" once he felt sure that Liverpool would fulfil their title ambitions before he LITERALLY slipped to give the ball to Demba Ba allowing Chelsea to beat them, which set off a sequence of events that ultimately lead to Liverpool choking to a Manchester City side they previously beat leaving them needing only 10 points in their last 4 games. Madrid is an established club in CL and so is Liverpool. They just couldn't capitalize and convert their opportunities in the game versus Madrid, but they were the better overall team. Madrid was just very compact defensively, and let's not forget what kind of game Courtois had as well. They play entertaining football and their team is full of world class players, on top of a world class coach. Three finals in five years, any team would take that, loss or win.
