Degrees from some countries ain't worth shit. Any country with a degree worthwhile isn't gonna be free.

Gotta agree with this, in the UK it's difficult to find a job in your chosen profession (for the most part) the only thing it shows an employer is that you can nuckle down and apply yourself.

The US is very misguided in the way that anything cheaper is seen as socialism. The fact that it is so expensive draws in the best lecturer's for opertunity to make money and if  their pockets get lighter they will just go elsewhere making other country's degrees more desirable and carry more weight.

Truth is education should be free, private schools shouldn't exist so everyone gets the same opertunitys but US is never going for that.

Either way, I don't necessarily think you need to go to college depending on the profession you choose. Obviously something medical for example, you would. But there are a lot of other ways to get credentials (ie certifications). But to answer your question, if college was free in the US, of course I would take advantage of it and probably get several degrees.

I would say most people would take that opportunity, but even most graduates who graduated with their desired degree don't get the job they studied for. Every year there is new batch of graduates to the point where degree's are slowly becoming saturated, while everyone's competing. Or let's just say, you've to be very lucky to find your dream job in the States.
