  1. VR - I didn't particularly respect any of them, but I think Cera S6 and Evizu were the most bearable. DF - I think you were decent. I don't think I cared much for Veseble or Zedest. DI - Ghjjf deserves respect for his achievements. Unsure if he was ever ranked, but I never liked Bibbleboy. EH - Most respect for 3lite. Islamia was fine too. I don't think there was anybody I had any issues with. TT - I recall Bishinmo being a bit of an idiot. I had a quick look at their old memberlist and surprisingly I couldn't see anybody I particularly respected. I have probably forgotten someone... as a I clan I generally had respect for them. EOS - I don't think I have much respect for any of them. Generally a bunch of clowns. COR - No strong feels either way for COR officials. ==ice==
  2. Some of the best that we had during that era. Pound for pound I think TT were our best rivals at the time. If we pulled 100 people vs 100 people against any other clan (DF, VR, EH, etc) then I would be very confident that we would win unless we really took our eye off the ball. Against TT on even options I knew it was going to be close and that we would need to be on form in the various key areas - leaders/calling, binding, sniping, returning/maintaining numbers. Wins felt hard earned and a hard earned win is the best type of win. ==ice==
  3. What is the most "NH" thing you did as leader? Or even something you allowed to happen? If nothing, what have you been tempted to do? Have you ever coordinated your fights to be crashed? I didn't really do anything bad. Technically we discouraged RWT as a clan and I sold a bit here and there whilst I was active and then sold a lot when I retired, but that really isn't much to do with the clan. I condoned and supported use the spies, but by the time I did that it was something that every clan did. I was never tempted to crash fights, directly or indirectly, or to have our own fights crashed. That is a very slippery slope that I would not have wanted us to go down at all and if I ever had knowledge of somebody planning that behind my back they'd likely have been kicked. Having our own fight be crashed would as a minimum render any victory completely meaningless, null and void. Perhaps more importantly, it would bring in to question the legitimacy of any future wins where we had been crashed. How do you feel like you stood compared the other leaders in your era? What other leaders did you feel like were "overrated"? I felt that I stood well and that I ran a pretty tight ship at RSD. I had been in the clan world and involved in the leadership of RSD for longer than most rival leaders, so the additional experience was helpful at times. I led the clan with my head and tried to make smart decisions, rather than make decisions purely on a whim/with my heart. As for other leaders, most were pretty good in some way or another or else they would not have been leading the clans that I called our rivals. Filling out my responses on 3lite's topic a few weeks ago probably made me realise that I didn't really care for EoS too much. I think by extension their leadership was not up to par with the leaders of the likes of DI, DF, EH, TT, etc. How do you want to be remembered? I suppose this isn't really something that you get to choose! That said, I always saw myself as one clan man who was very passionate about RSD and fighting as hard as I could to make sure the clan succeeded. I tried to lead by example and encourage the members to always do their best and to fight for the clan with the same enthusiasm and passion, of course whilst having a lot of fun along the way. I hope people look back and think "he really cared and tried his best, so did I/the other members, and because of everyone's efforts it was a great time and and a great clan to be a part of." ==ice==
  4. Did you and your brother ever get along outside of RSD? I get on fine with my brother. We are quite different people and live in different towns/cities so I don't see him too much these days, but it is always good to catch up over the holidays and around birthday times. Why did you love risk so much? It is the best board game! I loved a session/team game with fellow RSD members. ==ice==
  5. Given that I am not really up to speed with the current scene, it is hard to go into too many specifics. Generally I would say: - We would do both F2P and P2P - We would focus on attracting quality/elite members who actively contribute on the battlefield and to the community off the battlefield - Given that everyone is a lot older and has different priorities in life, to the extent possible we would limit the length of PKRIs/fights even if it meant sacrificing technical victories based on last man standing - Leaders would be Livin, Bow, me (perhaps a 3 full leader structure to split the burden, rather than the traditional co-leader structure). - PK leaders would be Lord Weasley, F1r3o, Vaggerbond, Miner Cire, Godsmoke as PK Leaders (per my top 5 in response to a previous question) - Mr 800, Carlos Dx, Bclayj2 as RSD Court/additional advisors I probably missed out some key people that we would want in the ranks, but I just went with what came in to my head first. ==ice==
  6. What you guys think about the clan world nowdays? does it have any chance of being something better then that shit? To be honest, I completely stopped tracking it or even checking in for the past few years. It is only now that Discord has become a thing and since I have been directed to these forums that I even became aware that people were still about. I see that there are some fights taking place, so I'm impressed that there is still something there at all. I guess it'll never be back to what it used to be like though, or anywhere near. Would you guys play in a clan again or rebuild/reopen RSD? I wouldn't have anywhere near enough time. I am days behind just responding to posts here! If somebody let me on their account I'd join a fight for old time's sake! What you guys think about this RoT dominance? most exactly about their "we do everything to win, including DDoS, Doxing, hacking, etc." posture. A win through those means has always been a dirty win that wouldn't gain any respect from me. Even less so if they feel the need to do that kind of thing to win in a clan world where most of the other good clans have closed and are long gone. They never had the raw quality to win fights on merits alone when I was still active and they always had to resort to underhand tactics to become relevant. It looks like not much has changed. ==ice==
  7. PK Leaders: F1r3o, Vaggerbond, Lord Weasley, Godsmoke, Miner Cire. Worst promotions: Hohto. He developed a bit of an unhealthy hate for the clan that resulted in him posting a rather strange "RSD Manifesto". I am not sure he actually ever did anything once he was promoted. A very odd character! ==ice==
  8. Most memorable favourite fight: Official war/non-returning - RSD vs DI 2004 PKRIs - None really stand out, but I really enjoyed one of our last PKRIs vs DF before the wilderness removal (14 hours/RSD victory/~December 2017). I also enjoyed one of the fights vs VR when I think we started with ~120 people vs ~180 people and managed to win with >399 options. We gradually broke them down and I think I was sniping the whole fight, which I always enjoyed. Longest fight I was a part of: I don't actually remember. I was not able to be there for all of the 24 hour fight vs VR so I can't include that one. I think there were various fights that lasted between 14 and 20 hours. If there's one thing you could've done differently as an official what would it be? I would get to know my enemies better and make more of a proactive effort to recruit/poach good members from rivals. At times we took a bit of a passive approach to recruitment and assumed that good members would apply on their own accord or that existing members would recruit their friends. A bit more of an aggressive approach could have got us some good additional members. If you could name 3 of your top non-officials members that come to mind during your eras who would they be? Tough question. Generally the better members did get noticed and ended up holding a rank of sorts. I have had a quick click through some of our old Runehead memberlists on the Way Back Machine (https://web.archive.org/web/20070801000000*/http://runehead.com/clans/ml.php?clan=rsdinasty in case anybody wants to take a look themself) to quickly find/throw up some names. Dj Mochasins probably did hold one rank or another at some point during his time in the clan, but he was a good and longstanding member who could have perhaps been a PK Leader or even Co Leader. H A 12 D was a bit of a maverick but a very good PKer and an asset on the battlefield in the earlier days. Similar to Dj Mochasins, Beckham69 did hold ranks but spent a good amount of time unranked and was a very solid all round member and one of few Aussies in the clan. ==ice==
  9. I could stare at old memberlists and ponder this one for a long time, but F1r3o / Vaggerbond and Lord Weasley / Mr 800 came to mind when I first read this. I group them like that because both the pairings are brothers in real life. During my time as Co-Leader and Leader both were very influential and important to the clan. For me, F1r3o was the best caller that RSD ever had and we really raised our game when he was calling. He was also very intelligent and did a lot for a clan behind the scenes. Although not a caller at PKRIs/etc, Mr 800 put in a great shift as Co Leader in 2007 and is often a forgotten name/character in the history of RSD. Vaggerbond and Lord Weasley were big characters and great callers too. ==ice==
  10. Truth be told, none stand out to me. I was probably involved in the striking/kicking of 100+ people, but no individual one stands out. I think that is a good thing. It was never anything personal. We had rules and punishments and those had to be upheld and applied in a pretty strict fashion. Of course two offences are never the same, but you really couldn't let the decisions be emotional. Often I'd consider the people being striked or kicked a friend, but I don't think it ever led to any falling outs or hard feeling. People knew that we had rules and that those rules would be applied so it never came at much of a surprise to somebody when they were punished. Glad that you had a great experience with RSD! I remember you being a solid member. ==ice==
  11. Define boomer.... I think our members were a bit older than those at other clans, but we are probably talking people typically in the 18-22 range rather than 14-18 range. We did some some 30+ year old members, but we are talking a minority. ==ice==
  12. I never really knew Ghjjf too well. We barely spoke at all. I would say that I have mixed views. In some ways, DI shared some similar values to RSD as a clan. They conducted themselves with a certain degree of respect, certainly more than lots of other clans. Ghjjf deserves some credit for that. Ultimately DI were successful so he did a lot of things right. However, whilst there was honour and respect from DI on the surface (and by extension Ghjjf), peel that away and I think you'd find somebody who would stoop pretty low and go through various nefarious means to put his clan ahead. ==ice==
  13. Getting the clan to a point of consistent strength and stability by the time I retired, which was largely achieved through retaining and building a really strong group of officials and core members. There were numerous achievements along the way, but I think the greatest achievement is the building of the empire and not any one victory or moment. ==ice==
  14. For rivalry RSD vs DI, primarily in 2004 but from time to time thereafter. The 2004 war was a big event and a real spectacle for the clan world at the time, but it was the daily fights at mage bank at the time that helped build the tension. We had many other rivalries from time to time over the years that followed, but it felt like those rivalries would last for just 2-3 months at a time rather than there being a sustained one that stood out. The same can be said for fights. We had loads of great PKRIs, many going on 10+ hours. It is hard to single out a specific one. As a string of victories, I think our run during the second half of 2017 was pretty special. I think we beat everybody, culminating with a 14 hour victory over DF shortly before the removal of the wilderness. We had some pretty epic battles with VR in ~2009/10 too. I think 120 RSD beat 180 VR and ended up with over 399 options which was pretty epic. ==ice==
  15. Strengths - I was always very calculated in the decisions I made and I sought input from some very competent officials within the clan before making them. I generally didn't do anything on a whim and everything as well thought out. I was also pretty active within the RSD community - forums, team speak, etc. I felt that helped me get a good gauge on what people were happy and not happy with. That helped me address issues and explain leadership decisions in a way that resonated with the clan member base. Weaknesses - I could sometimes get tied up in the detail and probably spent too long posting on the likes of Zybez etc. I could probably have made more of an effort speaking to and building up dialogue with other clan leaders - there are a number of rival clan leaders who I have never spoken to at all, which seems a bit odd looking back. ==ice==
  16. I just woke up and have yet to eat. I am planning to go to a food market soon so I shall be skipping breakfast. ==ice==
  17. Icedrop (2008-2010) I joined RSD in mid-2003. At that point RSD was a mixed skilling and PKing clan led by Livinlarge21 and was already considered one of the best and most powerful clans in the game, with many 110+ combat level players (back then there were so few you'd generally recognise most of their names). I enjoyed the regular PK trips, and I remember being amazed by the number of members that turned out for the first official war I attended against Exercitum. After the release of Runescape 2 in 2004, the clan world grew very quickly which provided RSD with a number of new rivals. We enjoyed a fierce rivalry with DI, which culminated in a huge war in the summer of 2004 that RSD won to reinforce our position as the #1 clan. Later in 2004 Livin closed RSD due to other commitments. Prior to the temporary closure I had held positions as RSD Court and Event Co-ordinator. During the closure I joined a clan called Empire of Honour that was founded by and consistently mainly of former RSD members. Around April 2005 Livin contacted me to tell me he planned to re-open RSD and asked whether I would be willing to take up the rank of Co-Leader for the reopening. I was excited and honoured to have been chosen for the role and embraced the opportunity. There was similar enthusiasm for RSD's return from the clan world at the time, with over 100 people applying within 24 hours of us reopening. I learned a lot during my time as Co-Leader. Working closely with Livin, we managed to rebuild RSD very quickly - to the point we were able to compete against top clans such as DI and DS in 2005 and moving in to 2006. To embrace the new era of PKRIs we had to make a number of changes to the clan in 2006, including completely dropping the skilling side of the clan. That took a hit on our numbers, but it ultimately made RSD stronger and we rebuilt moving into/through 2007 and found ourselves in a position as a top clan once again. Livin retired at the start of 2008, at which point I became the full leader of RSD. During my leadership I was supported by a couple of co-leaders (I was keen to continue the co-leadership structure to ensure continuity of the clan) and a strong set of other clan officials. The next couple of years presented a number of challenges for both RSD and the wider clan world, with the removal of the wilderness and introduction of bounty hunter and clan wars changing the clan world as we knew it. Looking back, I am pleased with how we adapted to those challenges and RSD maintained its strength as a top clan throughout the period. During my time as leader I worked hard to make sure that RSD maintained its core values – to always strive to be the best, to conduct ourselves in a respectable and honourable manner, and to let our quality do the talking where it mattered on the battlefield. I put a strong focus on ensuring we attracted and retained the best members who all shared those values and over the years we built a really strong community where everyone had each other's back. Towards the end of 2010 I realised that real life commitments would prevent me from putting in the time required as leader, so I announced my retirement. We had been on a good run for the past couple of years, continuing to grow our numbers and strength. Since the return of PKRIs we were regularly able to pull 100+ people, winning a number of fights with 399+ options. We also won the Jagex Cup in the summer of 2010, which was a nice reward for all the hard work our members had put in over the years. I handed the leadership over to the safe hands of Bowhunter65, Bclayj2 and the rest of the clan officials and stayed around as a semi-active retired member thereafter, chipping in where I could. ==ice==
  18. Breakfast - Crumpet topped with caramelised onions and camembert. Lunch - Cod fillet, dauphinoise potatoes, baby corn. Snack - Duck crackling. Dinner - TBC. ==ice==
