  1. How did it feel knowing that when we'd grind hours of Left 4 Dead I'd get to be COACH , the greatest character of all time while you were always being the stinky little, Jockey?

I've always thought you were a good  guy, but always one step behind me in games you little Jockey!

If you started a clan from scratch, what would its name/colors/logo/theme be?

I personally wouldn't start a clan from scratch. I've never got the motivation to create a clan, or the willpower to spend the amount of time it needs to be a leader. If a clan was to reopen I'd like to see RSD/Corruption remade to their former glory, no clan that's open today will ever hit their peaks again. Most clans are happy pulling 50-60. Where back then everyone wanted 133+ people for fights.

What is your all-time top 10 clan ranking?

If i'm rating it from 09-11

    Vr/Rsd

    Rot
    Df/EOS

    Di/TT/EH
    Solace/Corruption

Can't think of any other clan at the moment, these clans above I think on any given week could take any spot from each other.

Where do you see the clan world a year from now?

Pulling 40 people or less. It's a downhill slope with a lot of people losing the grind. Most people are focusing on reality over virtual I feel. Once the vaccines for Covid are fully completed, and things are better I feel most people will go back to work/school and trying to grind as they'll have built up debt. I feel a few more clans will either die or fall off.

Something that never hit public eye from VR

Members really never got the choice of the crash wars, they'd get told to mass up for a fight and they'd find out at the time we were starting crash wars, most of them didn't care. But the ones we did I feel like we lost a lot of good members who didn't agree with the crash war and they went inactive due to it. It was they were with us, or against us at the point.

How do you want to be remembered?

As someone who is a regular person, who's made mistakes but at the end of the day a person who did the best he could to improve any clan he was in. (expect Rot/Df). I wouldn't say a top caller as I truly think a lot of others were far more superior than me.

    Thoughts on Tempest?

I think they made the impact where F2P is now as it was a dying breed. They're a clan that can dominate in f2p and p2p with a loyal/respected memberlist and wish you guys all the best.

It's okay. Kaochinx was a useless dipshit in DI anyways, and you can tell him so.

At least with you I have nothing remotely negative to say. If he wants to gloat so much, tell him to do an AMA, I'd love to see how that shitstorm turns out.

Kao will never do an AMA, he can't take criticism very well, whenever he tried, he'd get bullied and try and leave a clan once shit hit the fan with him or twist his words to try and get others on his side.

Has anyone else had anything interesting to say about anything you've said about them / VR in this AMA?

Just a lot of Vr members bashing me for making an AMA  on Tempest's forums. But other then that, just D2. But we talk daily.

If you hadn't gone back to VR at any point, what other clans do you think you may have ended up joining, or what clans do you think you may have had longer stints in?

Personally don't see myself in any other clan other then VR/EOS/ROT/CORR. The first three are all the same type of people with the same mindsets and will do anything to get to the top.

Did you ever have any desire to try out Di/TT/RSD?

Never thought of joining these clans, I thought they were good. But I feel my personality would of never fit in with these clans.

Assuming no clients, do you prefer f2p or p2p fights?
I've always preferred F2P. P2P is fun every once in a while, but I've always been f2p at heart.

Rev was good, they took everything super serious in game, but out of game they're all chilled out dudes. Their dedication to this game and to keep Rev's name a top contender are insane.
They make really detailed fight recaps and what everyone needs to work on and ain't afraid to call people out for fucking up or will call out people who stood out amongst the group at fights if they performed well. The official group there are top tier, and deserve to continue dominating.

Do you regret all the time you spent being Empire Mind?

Regret the whole time? No. I feel this game really shaped me as a person outside this game. I was a pretty quiet person, and feel the reasonability as a caller of a top clan with hundreds on members relying on you helped me grow out of that bubble and made me stronger person. I was an introvert for a long time, and now I'm an extrovert and feel I owe some of that to this game. I grew some great relationships with people over the years and wouldn't trade that in.

Only thing I regret is how I treated some people online, I know it's an online game but the shade I was throwing towards people was uncalled for and I don't know how that person handles things on the other side. I should of been more mature but when you're 16-20. You don't think of that stuff.

    Favorite RS girl ever? :^)

Bella Sedai. I really enjoyed Bella, I trusted her a lot and we could talk about anything. She was a kind hearted person and I'm glad I got to know her.

Have you ever met anyone from RS?

Just Plazahitman. When ROT and VR were beefing in 2007? We live about 30 minutes away from each other, and he called me out for a fight. I showed up to the location he told me too, and then he didn't want to fight. Looking back at it, we're stupid that we were even going to fight over an online beef.

What is a funny Viper & Empire Mind story that you can tell us?

Anything involving Viper is a funny story. It seemed any E-GF Viper would get would always be a catfish. There was a certain girl in Vr who he was e-dating who faked her whole life, and pictures.
One night he called my cell and told me to get on teamspeak so I went. He pulls me into a private channel and tells me how she's too kinky for him, and I say what did she do. He told me she let her dog lick somewhere she shouldn't of, and I was so grossed out but couldn't stop laughing because I knew she had a Weiner dog. I asked him if he enjoyed it as a joke, and he admitted it really turned him on. So I went and told everyone because I didn't think anyone would believe me. Wasn't too long after that and she was an outcast within the clan. Kind of feel bad.

Another e-gf he had turned out her and her mother were living in a fantasy world lol, we thought her "best friend" was this super chill friend who always did dung with us, turns out it was her mom pretending to be 22, and his e-gf was faking everything about it. He stayed with her even knowing she wasn't who she said to me, and I'd always assign people teamspeak power so we could sneak into their private channel they'd have to watch movies and just ruin their evening on a weekly basic.

Favorite game to play with clanmates?

We still play Aram's of League now, I mostly play Fortnite/COD with Maskedmatt09 and  Danatello (Charlie) now.

Back in the day we'd all play Modern warfare 2 after wars and it was the most fun I had in years. Because that game was just hectic and full of goons so we'd be beefing with people all night.

I think you made a slight mention of it and you weren't one of the people banned, but what was it that several VR people were banned at once for involving the duel arena if you know? Think it was pre eoc.

Tyler11 was a real life trader, and anyone who even traded with him in game was banned as they thought anyone involved also partook in it. A lot of innocent people got fucked that day, as Tyler was giving GP out. He was an addicted staker and so were many VR at the time.

Were there any people who ended up spying on VR that was really unexpected (loved/well respected members) ? I guess not counting people who just leaked logs instead of spying and not counting Kaochinx

PaladinWiz, he was a council member and did a lot of the background stuff for us via forums. He decided to leak a lot of personal data for no reason. He was loved by a lot of members so a lot were caught off guard.

Cami - She was hit and miss, some liked her and some didn't. She ended up leaking to VR to ROT. I heard it was because she was getting paid money for things she needed in real life by ROT, but also heard she had no choice as they were threanting to DOX her? I wasn't really active in this time.

Mirage - Ended up scamming members for billions of GP, not sure if they ended up leaking or not.

What was some of the funnier stuff you remember seeing from other clans through leaks?

I never really kept up to leaks after I did it personally. Most of it just shows what officials really think of members, and it's kind of a slap in the face for members who work so hard for these guys and the clan to get talked behind their back and most didn't even realize. I knew Rev/Rot were leaking stuff not that long ago, but I never even went to read it.

If 3rd party clients were banned tomorrow, how do you think it would effect the clan world? Do you think any clans would slump or have issues? What clans (if any) do you think would do better ?

I feel that people rely too heavy on these clients and really think a lot of members who would just quit as they think Jagex is targeting the PVP scene. It'd be nice to see it go back to the old days with nobody using clients and showing which clan has the supreme members, but in this day and age it won't. I think only a handful of clans don't use a client now.

What are some of your favorite memories from your time in clanning/on RS?

Watching each clan grow. It was good seeing not seeing the same 2-3 clans beef it out for the throne, clans like EOS came out of nowhere and dominated most clans for some years, ROT, DF, RSD, TT, VR, DI.

I enjoyed Runescape in the 2007-2010 era. Now it seems every discord you go too has a gold selling site attached and feels like you need to buy gold to continue playing and nobody working for their money anymore.

I don't have a personal favorite memory as I really enjoyed majority of the time I spent on this game.

    1) what 1 word and 1 person that comes to mind when you think of the below clans?

VR - Unbroken (Evizu) - Felt like every clan at one time or another wanted to see VR die, but it fed the fire for us and made us stronger and showed the clan world we weren't backing down against any clan.

DF - Serious (Lego) - Felt ego always was apart of this clan, I think the crash war wasn't their scene and a lot of prime members left due to this fact. They were powerhouses and in a 1v1 they could compete with anyone. Glad they're still alive.

CoR - Guts (Chopa234) - Felt like Corr never turned down from a fight but a few mistakes from previous leaders ruined the future for this clan.

RSD - Respect (JoyHova) Vr and Rsd didn't see eye to eye, but this clan ALWAYS gave us a run for our money. We'd talk to the talk and RSD would walk the walk and prove time over they could compete with us on a daily run in.

EH - Honorable - (3lite) - Always were a clan with a lot of respect and to be honest deserved a push for #1. I feel like them staying out of the crash war was their downfall as it was hard for them to find a good fight against any top 1-3 clan as we were always beefing with each other.

TT - Drama (Bishimo) - I personally never felt any hate towards this clan, but found anytime someone didn't get along with TT it'd be a beef towards them and they'd ignore fighting with that clan.

DI - Strong - (Ghjjf) - Felt like anyone who is oldschool wanted to be apart of DI due to the fact that they were always the favorite clan to win most fights and people like winners.

Solace - Underrated (TMO) - Found these guys to be always the underdogs due to being newer to the clan scene in later years, but gave clans a run for their money.

EXO - Underrated (Shuster09) - Just like Solace. Always the underdogs but showed top clans they could compete with others.

DS - Overrated (kidefence512) Just found DS to be overrated and would of easily been taken down by any of the above clans if they stayed open.

'THE' - Classy (Germs22) - Another clan with a lot of respect, feel with the decline of leadership and not many wanting to step up they slowly started to dwindle down, would of been great to see them take PVP more serious in our era.

Gladz - Chill (Des Troyer) - Another clan with a huge following. I feel if they took PVP more serious like they did in 2006-2007 they'd be powerhouses. I always idolized this clan and wish I could of been apart of them.

    2) How did you create the name Empire Mind?
Used to play a lot of Age of Empires, and thought of the name Empire Mind. Always thought it was a cool name as did others.

The crash wars from a DF perspective hurt us a lot in terms of quality officials and in particular our callers retiring early on in the first one and generally not wanting to deal with it.  We had some ups and downs during it, but for the most part they did highlight a great core of members that we had in place that were never going to let DF completely fade away from competing at the top during that time period.  But we lost some of the best callers in DF history who all retired or faded activity wise right around the same time, and the crash war without a doubt was a large reason for them stepping away.

VR on the other hand like you said definitely thrived on the challenge.  You guys were always going to be more suited for it.  Really, momentum really didnt start to even out until ROT was finally brought into the mix and you guys were up against a clan that also thrived in that atmosphere.

Like I said, VR in late 2009/early 2010 was the toughest challenge I ever went up against in my time with DF.  I just wanted to give credit where it was due, because like I said, I don't think enough people either realized it, or just wont admit to how good y'all were at that time.

Good to hear some thought of the same way. I wish we could of showed our true power thru these years. It was a shame many good people retired over it.

  11. 5 hours ago, Blue Wall said:

Man, I wasn't around the game anymore for any of your post VR time, but it feels so weird seeing that you were in DF even for just a short amount of time.

I had one thought and kind of question I wanted to share/pose to you.

During the first large crash war where VR gained a lot of strength, especially after DI closing.  I felt that internally VR were much better suited to handle that kind of mentality than any of the other clans that took part.  The one downside I saw in it for VR though was that because of the crash war, every fight that VR engaged in just turned into a large cluster of all clans involved.  I think because of this people don't truly realize how strong VR truly were at that time.  You guys were honestly untouchable in a 1vs1, but you never really got to prove it because 1vs1's weren't a thing at that point.  VR for that stretch could send 50-60 snipers on a clan and still have a 80 man main pile at times.  In my time in DF, it was really the only time that I felt like we couldn't hang with a clan on a given day, but we got to hide behind the crash war as a way to deny VR that clear cut title.

So my question really is, do you think that VR in that span of dominance truly got the credit they deserved from an external standpoint?  I know y'all likely weren't bothered by who thought what at the time but it feels like people don't look back at the dominant clans and give VR the credit they deserved for their late 2009/early 2010 form you guys were in.

I don't think VR got the credit we deserved due to the fact we started the crash war which I understand because of the lack of fights given to us, everyone used to say it was because we'd cheat/get crashed by another clan/etc. We really weren't given the chance to prove our strength in a 1v1 like you said, and wish a clan would give us the chance. The only clan that would give us a fight for the main part of this was RSD and this was after the first crash war. I think if we were ever put in a prepped cap fight we could of really shown our dominance, but this was the era of uncapped fights and whoever outlasted the other clan was usually the "victor to RSC community rules". If I could of changed one thing it would of been VR not going around crashing everyone as a bully mentality due to nobody wanting to fight us. If we could of got time caps we could of shown our dominance but also feel this would of just not gave us fights and a crash war would of started regardless due to the hunger for a fight. The crash war was always a morale booster showing/proving we could go up against multiple clans at once.

Mike imo was a top 10 f2p caller. He was newer to the scene and got adapted really quick. He was consistent and had really well map knowledge. Nobody in ROT compared to him at the time. Nobody really thinks of Mike because he was in Mattyb's shadow. He was a better caller than myself and most others I'd think on people's top 10 lists.

You've talked a fair bit about the people you've liked in VR as well as the people you found yourself often disagreeing with or finding rather annoying. Who were some of the people you liked/didn't get along with from your stints in EoS, Corr, RoT, DF, Rev, Brut, AF ?

It's actually pretty funny, but I really didn't fight with anyone within these clans, I feel like I've got a good personality and usually people would be chill when we'd be talking. I didn't have beef with anyone in these clans. I'd keep to myself and always found a way to get along with everyone. While in Brut/Rev/Af it was more of a secondary clan where I didn't spend a lot of time getting to know the members as much as I should of. I'd attend fights and go back to Vr teamspeak/Mirc, and didn't commuicate with many of the people without the teams.

In Rev I found sometimes Ima Scaper took things way too serious, but Rev were on a push and wanted to overtake ROT so I don't blame him. In Corruption I got along with literally everyone, and EOS I found everyone to be the level minded.

ROT I didn't go looking for fights with anyone, and kinda kept quiet as I could tell they were trying to sugar me up and get involved more. But thru ROT there was a lot of times the teamspeak would be down for days at a time, and I didn't say too much in Mirc thru these times. I found myself always disagreeing with people within VR sometimes due to the fact of our actions of things I didn't agree with. While in the other clans I was more of just a member afterwards and didn't know much backstory.

    Hey Steve,

Saw you around frequently in EOS / VR days when I was EH and at that time (2008/2009) you struck me as a clout chaser, but in my later years (2012ish) and since returning, I've realized you are actually a good dude who wasn't really associated with the savage goons in EOS / VR that I really disliked (Kao, Craigberry, Eli, etc). So my apologies on being quick to judge in those days!

I was a clout chaser in these years for the most part. I wanted to get under people's skin, but never meant anything from it. I just tried to better the clan the best I could for the most part, or make it fun. After I realized what type of person I was becoming I took the break to get back to reality and realize I was acting like an idiot.

What was your relationship with Nodari like? He always struck me as one of my favourite ranks in VR to deal with and an influential member of their community.

Me and Nodari were always close, he's always had a good head over his shoulders and would help anyone he could and didn't act out of order. Nodari never got mixed up in the drama and just loved VR but never showed any bad habits. Me and him aren't as close now as he's like myself and focused on reality. He still comes online from time to time. I keep him on social media as do I with a few other people I'm close with so I can see their real life successes.

What decisions are you proud of making in VR and how did you personally help to raise them up to the next level?

Personally proud of being recognized as a top caller within the clan who helped lead the clan against many tough battles. As I didn't always fully get along with some officials I'd constant be morale boosting the members and would help whoever I could with making money. This was the time of EP dd, and I'd constantly be in teamspeak talking to members for hours and making sure they knew the good they were doing, or hosting EP events to help members remake money that they lost in fights. Nobody in Vr ever made "decisions" as a solo member, everything was agreed upon by %. You'd be shock at the % of people that were against a crash war. Everything came down to Evizu at the end of the day. I've always been known as the guy you could talk to about literally anything and I wouldn't go shaming them.

If your memory serves you, who were your top 10 favourite VR members (not ranks) of all time?

Most good members usually got promoted to officials, but if I had to pick just members.

Then I'd pick Paris Fexis, Goa Karo, RscimmyGod, Oji San, Mauro K Po, Oo I mage, Bear187, MithWiz, Petethe1st, 13_13dude

I had no idea about Savage. I actually kinda remember hearing about Viet trying to join Rot but got laughed at through his intro and he shortly withdrawed his application as he knew he was being used. Not sure if he leaked, I'd have to ask him if he did or not. But he still hangs around and never heard anything take shots at him for doing that.

Kao was really bad at catching spy's and would kick innocent people thru his paranoia I feel. There was a lot of members I thought were innocent that he'd kick saying he had evidence but would never show any of us the proof behind it. I feel if he didn't like them he'd boot them and nobody would say anything.

Did you ever consider returning to EOS after your original stint in VR?

What were your thoughts on Matt as a leader? How would you compare him to Evizu?

I didn't actually ever consider going back as I knew EOS would never become big if current leaders were in charge as none of them cared enough for the push the clan needed. Buzzcut didn't care afterwards, nor did Cheesy1989. It wasn't until Oli came and had them make a push, but at this time I was content in VR and never thought of going back. There wasn't many clans I ever show myself going too as I didn't feel I'd fit in.

Matt as a leader was almost a copy of Evizu, but more serious. I didn't agree with his way of leading all the time though, he'd threaten people if they weren't listening and made his members feel like any mistake would lead into an instant boot from the clan. It made them stronger I think, but it isn't a way to lead people as alot of ROT were immature. Near the end of ROT for like the last 2-3 months we didn't have forums due to the fact of constant ddosing towards the site so everything was done thru TeamSpeak, and if you didn't have a clique than you didn't fit in. So when I quit I told him through TeamSpeak and I got threatened when leaving, and later on about two months after me leaving and making an intro to VR I started getting doxed. You had to watch what you'd say when in ROT because if you offended a certain person than you'd almost be targeted by their clique so I mostly kept to myself and kept my circle small. They tried to convince me to step up but I told them I didn't feel it anymore and they kept asking, so I always wonder if I stayed longer if they'd of tried to force me to call as after b289 there wasn't too many callers outside of him.

Do you think there is tension between Evizu/Mike nowadays?

There's really never been any tension between the two. Mike is more of the frontline caller and Evizu likes to take charge from behind the scenes and make decisions. As many clans do.

It was only a few years ago that 2/3 of the current VR leaders got exposed for saving IPs to ddos for Jcup as well as doxing. Did VR ever get involved in any of that stuff (that you're aware of) during your time there?

Yeah they did. I don't think many clans weren't guility for this. I had no part in it, but knew it was a thing. We didn't start doxing, but weren't innocent also.

If you were starting a clan in the golden era and could grab 1 person from each major clan who you taking?

It seems like for the most part VR end up on pretty good terms with a lot of the people who spy or leak but later regret it or try to correct it (yourself, kaochinx, viet, savageraven). Are there any cases where the person has tried to come back and fix things but essentially been told to fuck off? (Not sure if ruon3bs counts but exclude him either way I guess)

    Rsd - Icedrop
    ROT - Brian289
    Eh - Lil blacknite
    Eos - Allstar049
    Df - X Shinobi
Cor - Jay or Starman it'd be close
    TT - Kezzab Reds
    Vr - Evizu
Can't really think of other clans atm.

There's been a few, like DK Derek tried to come and so did Ktv. We let Ktv in a few times, but after he couldn't decide he got kicked. Most people who did that didn't usually get a second chance unless they did a good thing for VR in the past. I think I got off the easiest myself as I did leak logs and got welcomed back. Kao never was the same, as he did it on a few occasions and the trust was never there. What did Viet and SavageRaven do? I didn't know they did something.

Put me in the game coach.

Idk how I ended up getting in an L4d2 lobby with you, EoS Oli & True but I think it helped slightly in convincing you to join DF and the community we at at the time outside RS. I don't blame you for your lack of motivation at the time but it would have been good to be in the same clan as you when you were motivated.  Ty for doing an AMA.

After around 2010 I didn't really care anymore and just tried to be friendly with anyone. I wish I was still motivated as I once was, but after 2009 it became a downhill fall. I mostly joined DF for League of Legends and it soon became noticeable from officials as the game at this era was all the dung/corrupted era and most things were done thru CWA, and I hate CWA with a passion.

Do you remember anyone in DF that leaked/spied for VR that that wasn't already made public

Not that I know of. Kao/Mike were more behind getting spies into clans. I didn't get involved with spies in general as I don't think they're worth it as it ruins their image.

Thanks for doing the AMA, always thought you were one of the funniest dude on runescape. Wish I would've been able to lead with you when you were still calling!

Would of been fun, and thanks Lil David!

Are you gonna briefly unretire for the jcup this year assuming it's actually delivered?

Nah. I hardly have time as it is, I get my schedules made two months in advance so the chances of me getting the time off is always slim to none.

Do you feel Jagex should take a harder stance on cheat clients? I remember using a modified one back in DI (based on SV's client) and Old Nite's spare got banned from it one fight which was obviously unappealable despite the fact it's nowhere near as retarded as this stuff is now. Like the most broken thing on it was it'd tell you how long was left on a freeze/whos already frozen immune etc, but seeing the shit I've seen in fights where I put a staff on and I glow up bright as a mage is very demotivating for playing this game because it's no longer based on mechanical ability, it's who has the better client cos on equal numbers with good callers you can't make someone end or put them at a significant number deficit anymore. Communities carry clanning in this game cos clients made the pvp shit. Honestly tempted to tweet bomb the fuck out of Ash daily until he gets off his fat chink ass and does something about it lol.

Worst of all they black screen/won't patch in somecases won't even open in South Korea where RS is banned lol. So even when I'm in Europe I don't use em cos I don't wanna crutch on them later.

Jagex once went after the cheat clients but backed off from the backlash of the community and allowed Runelite to stay open. I personally don't think they'll ever get rid for them due to the fact that they already backed out of it once already. It'd give them a bad image now. It's either ban them all or keep them all. I personally refuse to use these clients as like you said. It just makes fights too easy now and you can take advantage of other players who don't use it. I don't think Ash can do anything about it, most things are ignored it seems. They want to please one set of players and ignore the PVP scene or if they do try and fix it they just fuck it up even more.

Sup Steve, good old memories from VR

Hey Rmd! We had some good memories back in the day!

So it seems you're not really a big fan of the clients (very understandable and I agree it's really stupid btw). Do you put the blame more on Jagex's side for not enforcing it given that some things just can't be detected (pretty sure pile finder/etc can't actually be detected but could be wrong) ? Do you blame people for using them? Or a mix of both?

I don't blame people for using them. I just think of them as cheat clients and takes away from the way we did things back in the day. I don't think Jagex can do anything. They tried to remove  third party clients before but allowed Runelite to continue but tried banning others. It's either all or none, that's why they'll never be able to ban them now.

Who are some people you were happy to see leave or are happy are no longer around VR? (Excluding Kaochinx)

The dk spastics in general. Like I said prior, I didn't HATE anyone, just didn't agree with some members. I personally didn't like Valeronice or whatever her name, and Cam1mill. I never enjoyed watching people leave, and never held a grudge if they left.

Who are some people you're glad to see are still around after so long? Who are some people you wish were still around / still had contact with?

For people around, I'd say Shak, Zak45, Sparze, Evizu, Cera, Lordkilla, Rj deathlord, Ando, Mav1ball, Arma150, Vivera within VR still. I don't really talk to others outside of VR now.

People I wish were still around were Viper, D2master, Mauro K Po, Rad, Lukas, Demeagles, Oldman12, Ultraprono, Ruler321. Pasia Man. I still talk to some of these guys but none have any interest in this game also.

Are there any of the newer gen of VR members you've struck up a friendship with or liked?

I don't really talk to many people, I actually enjoy Mad ting, and Food. They're newer members but get along with these guys.

What are your thoughts on RJ? Generally most of what I hear about him is quite positive, but I don't think i've seen him mentioned on this thread yet.
Rj is a good guy, and always has been. He really stepped up when everyone was MIA and made sure VR was still active, he isn't as active as he once was but I knew he was in the same situation as me. I feel he wants to retire as he doesn't enjoy the game anymore. Rj is like Sparze, he's more quiet but will help anyone in VR who needs help.
