The Biggest F2P PVP Fight in OSRS History | WL Closing Scrap

For the last year, Wilderland has been a premium quality opponent for us in the F2P pvp scene. Between clan wars and wildy activities, they have helped revive a once legitimately dead game mode and allowed us to relive the nostalgia that is the OSRS F2P scene.

With WL saying that this was going to be their last ever fight, we were honoured by the challenge and started to prep for a real battle with genuinely high numbers. Over the last week and a half, we mobilized as many Tempest seamen as we could, understanding what type of fight the fields of Gielinor may be witnessing on this Sunday. As the day of the fight drew nearer, we knew we had a strong pull incoming. We openly massed at the Grand Exchance, before death-marching up the wildy as homage to true 2007scape.

WL were up a little earlier than us and were skirmishing with ROT in single at mossies. Little did we know that this would be celestial foreshadowing of the events that were to come this afternoon. We pushed up to West tree to see if they'd follow suit. WL came up, and the fight engaged.

Following a cheeky tweet by those at RoT HQ, we knew that RoT would be pulling all they could. After merging with SV, they have been boasting about their large pulls and the "Summer of Terror" that is to come. What ensued was so embarrassing that we're actually surprised they turned up.

Caught off guard by our pull, and disappointed by their own, RoT were forced to rethink their plan. Their brain-trust worked hard to come up with something viable, while allowing us to fight cleanly with WL for over 20 minutes. The few times that they attempted to long-range us from the outside, we pushed into them, clearing the all the way to single near mossies.

WL had an impressive pull as well, and we put on display some fierce fighting. Wanting to experience all areas of the wild, we moved the fight from West Tree to Members Gate and waited for RoT's attempted hit once more.

It was delayed as they desperately tried to gain numbers in-game. We were literally holding them off with our spare accounts, keeping them at arms length while they pitifully tried to swing at us with T-rex sized arms, missing the main fight entirely.

They never actually managed to get a hit off on us at MG.

Next, we moved the fight to Gdz. RoT pushed in one time before realizing the mistake they had just made. Literally on the verge of being fully cleared in-game, they were forced to retreat and rethink their strategy.

They ran south and we followed suit, pushing them all the way south of lava gap, bullying them into their new home [single strip]. We literally beat them back so badly that we were able to scrap them on alts while dancing on their graves.

From there, we moved up to New Gate.

It was a smoke show. RoT did exactly what we hoped they would. Every time they tried to push in, we used styles to push them down the hill. We cleared them over, and over, and over, and over again. By now, everyone is aware we have them on a tight leash. When we baited them north, they came up to fight. When we told them to run, they ran south. The only trick they haven't learned is how to speak. Any time they tried to get a pre-type while in the fight, it was no where near getting off the screen.

After politely asking for another 1v1 against RoT (they declined again), we decided to call the end of the cap with WL. With one final push down to single to laugh at the state of post-merge Reign of Terror, we said our gf to WL and ended, extremely satisfied with the work that we put in today. Remember when RoT had those "130+ man pulls" in June?

Thank you for all the excellent battles over the last year, Wilderland. You were a terrific and fair opponent who challenged us in every fight we had. You will be missed but you will surely live on happily in our memories as a major key to the revival of a game mode that was once toast. See you in Gielinor heaven.
