  1. Well Kelly left because me and her had a "falling out". The others followed her because they supported her over me. Suffocate V was a bit different. Basically he wasn't in long and wanted to have a big say in how things were run. He went on a solo run without even talking to other warlords and started setting up fights etc to further his own agenda. When I slapped him down he left. CK lasted about 2 (?) weeks because when we were setting up an exploit on their forums I messed up and accidentally deleted them. Rather than try recover they just gave up.
  2. It's not that I was against doing whatever it took to get better, but you can take things too far as well where it takes the fun out of things. Towards the end there was a topic created to discuss making a move from IRC to Discord. Discord was only fairly new at this time but it was obvious it was going to be the future for clanning, especially vs outdated technology like IRC. Olde, Ball and to a lesser extent Ray (Ffs M8) dissected the idea to death with essays and counter point after count point. That's when I knew I was wasting my time working with these guys. I mean I've always been up for a forum debate but you need to go into depth that much on a simple proposal... Technology and data is something I was always interested in. Would consider that kind of thing a different kind of seriousness than the stuff like analysing videos of CWA etc. In the OSRS era due to work commitments I wasn't able to stay up all night anymore. The game was very EST based. Demoting people would of left the clan in a pretty bad place. As I said before if I could do something to cover up stuff I would, but some of those guys put me in incredibly difficult positions. If the rules started to be bent for them then things would of broken down and no one would of respected them. Perhaps demotions in the case of MTA (logging on vid from our #1 rival), Karl (teleporting from RSD) would of been suitable. Skipped though (in Woodlys case) I could never accept. The ultimate disrespect to your clan mates. I'm surprised people returned and didn't hold grudges, but perhaps they accepted they were in the wrong. S1acker joined DI before I was leader. You're right there was an element of people (other than me) wanting to keep him in the clan because he was front page highscores and that was good "PR" for DI.
  3. As I said previously there wasn't really anything to leak anyway. All it would of been was logs of RoT doing shady shit or our thoughts on other officials. Seen as I quit not long after anyway it wouldn't of mattered what you or I said about any of them. I understood why you left. As you said it probably could of been differently and it was "betraying" me, but I was already long passed the point of no return by then so I didn't even care. 1. Not really. I wouldn't say their was any "dark forces" at play. There was certainly a growing cohort of people who didn't like him. I wouldn't say that influenced my decision. He put me in an extremely awkward position and left me with no option. If I could of done something to cover it up, I would of. Perhaps demoting him would of been enough. 2. That's hard to say. It was certainly a lot easier to get into DI during the OSRS era so I wouldn't count anyone during that period. What I will say is AG were really good at turning people and we really had to up our game to catch them. During that period we had a pretty impressive record of catching them. This guy wasn't significant or anything but the method I used to catch him was probably the "best" http://www.di-rs.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=45726 I hacked Geezers email, went on his MSN, started talking to the guy pretending to be him. Asked him what DI were doing and for the world etc. Of course he gave it, so we went to RR and bsed him.
  4. 1. Probably my cousin whose about 10 years older than me introducing me to computers from a very young age 2. Would of went hard at the start of OSRS rather than taking a laid back approach. Wouldn't of lasted as long as I did but would of done more in that time.
  5. Every clan needs a different "touch". Don't think his style is bad, it definitely suited what RSD were trying to do when I was there but it wasn't something I agreed with. During some fight someone crashed us (VR I think?) and there was no talk of retaliation. Made a topic asking why not and got shot down pretty much.
  6. nah only really watch the old firm
  7. 1. Probably be a tradesman of some sort. Always been interested in hands on stuff. Wasn't allowed do woodwork/metalwork at school though because I was too good at computers. 2. None really. Just a good to have a laugh at some of the old stuff. A way for people to reconnect as well if they happen to come across the site. Not expecting them to ever be active again. 3. Yes but I don't own a car right now because where I was working for the last couple of years before lock down required me to use public transport and the only other time I'm going out generally involves alcohol. My insurance allows me to drive anyone's car though. 4. In the original era I don't think people should of had any reason to fear me. Yes in terms of decision making I was ruthless, but only because I had to be. I wasn't an asshole for the sake of it or because I enjoyed it. Sure when I was younger I used to lose my temper a lot but when you had to deal with the stupidity I did it you can't blame me. It was often said by time OSRS came out I was a lot more mellow and maybe that played a part in the second run not being as successful as the first. I probably only lost my temper with someone once in all of the OSRS era. 5. Heard of him and Poison but never had any dealings with him.
  8. I was trying to get into PKing but back then if you didn't have a clan you couldn't go high wilderness. Here's a picture of what happened if you came across a clan, Might of been TRWF: I had a friend that was in TDS, not really sure how I came across her originally but anyway TDS were going to be joining The Alliance as the 5th clan (others were BK, 'THE', Jagz and Gladz). They needed to ramp up numbers a bit so she asked me to join. Think this was my first wilderness event, an iron "fun war", they were pretty common back then. Took a picture of this guy in Jagz cheating with an R2H. I was hooked instantly and wanted more. Obviously Alliance clans weren't going to provide me with enough so around the turn of RS2 I started looking for more. Even though I didn't like RS2 initially and was going to stick with RS1, I ended up moving to RS2 a few weeks later and started training at axe hut. Ran into a lot of DI there and got asked to join eventually after fighting back whenever they came to try and pk me. Funny axe hut story: Because of me doing this they delayed the release of clue scrolls by a week and changed it so you could no longer attack jmods:
  9. He used post on DI forums a lot: He was well known around the DI community, but not well liked because of the way he used spam forums. Back then almost everyone aspired to join DI as long as they had some interest in P2P. It was hard to get in DI, really hard. Being active around the DI community was a good way of trying to get yourself known and improve your chances of getting in. I guess he went too far and annoyed too many people. That was enough to get himself shunned. There's no doubt he emulated my style of leadership, It was successful so you might as well copy it. I don't think he set out to get revenge against DI or anything. Just wanted to do his own thing. It all felt a bit like this: I never had any problem with him while he was leader of RoT, me and him were very "like minded". Didn't deal with him much during the OSRS period, but when we did I'd say we worked well together because we both knew what needed to be done to get a job done.
  10. Exactly, we took on 8, 9, 10 actual clans at a time and would still win without resorting to shit tactics like sitting in GDS until people got bored and gave up.
  11. Historically RoT never went near single because a lot of the players they recruited weren't good at it. When BH became single only they basically disappeared. You're right that single and multi clans tended to avoid each other going back through the years. I don't know much about their rivalry since I've been gone for most of it but I'd guess RoT went after them out of boredom rather than an actual interest in single. Assuming Mattbrazil still has a big say in how things are run there he was never interested in single. To me "hacking" forums is justifiable for spying purposes. Hacking to delete/damage forums is not justifiable unless in retaliation for similar actions. DI forums were hacked twice. Neither time by anyone associated with a clan/team so there was no one to retaliate against as such. The one time we "crossed the line" here was when we warned AG not to crash our fight or we'd deleted their forums. Of course they crashed and about 30 seconds later their forums were gone. Other than that we never did "out of game" actions, At the absolute peak of our powers we could of done much to destroy people's RL lives but it's just not something we felt was the right thing to do.
  12. 1. No didn't follow them, quit the game so didn't care. Of course I wish them well in whatever they did. 2. They should of started a new clan because DI was mine. I gave almost 10 years of my life to making DI what it was. The fact I wanted to end it should of been respected. Some guys who joined in the last few years don't get to decide they want to keep it going. Make a new clan, build something of your own. Put your own blood, sweat and tears into it. 3. On a personal level he's a "good guy" but in the last few month's he was taking everything too seriously and over analysed situations to death. Took the fun out of it for a lot of people. No doubt in mind my mind he led to the demise of DI. People who were my friends for almost 10 years like Foyboy left because of him. 4. Not that close really. When he left RSD for DI I burned him on his attempts to join and he never recovered from that. The RoT official I contacted most was B289. Me and him were very like minded. 5. "Yes" but it was impossible. In the original era I had absolute control over every aspect of DI because I could be online almost 24 hours a day if needs be. By time OSRS came around that wasn't possible because I had too many responsibilities in real life. We had some great officials like Ashley, Joko, Paul, Zach but it's not my style. My style is absolute control. I couldn't do that in OSRS. 6. As long as winning and "getting the topic" is the most important thing then no. At the start of OSRS we had the opportunity, but it's way too late now. I tried to do my best but you can't compete when RoT had jmods in their pocket and look out for themselves. In the original era I had jmods in my pocket and I did the best for all clans like interacting with jagex to get wilderness restored etc. I didn't just look out for DI. People should care a lot less about winning and losing. "Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb" comes to mind. 6. My best friend was in RNG and asked me to join. As I said previously friendship is all that matters to me now. We play games for friendship. I have no "motivation" for playing other than friendship. If I really wanted to I could do it all again and be successful but what's the point? People might think RoT were a big deal during OSRS but as I said one time. DI did it when it actually mattered a damn. We really did take on the world and won. No achievement matters now and hasn't for a long time.

  14. Look at the middle of the keyboard
  15. These are probably the oldest of a fight that I've got, from the official war vs RSD in 2004
  16. We knew we had absolutely no chance in this fight so the approach we took was to make a complete joke of it. No one took it seriously or cared about the result.
  17. Some of these might of been closed but TT, RSD, VR, Corr, EH are the main ones I remember. In P2P there was also that GMT team that Tomisme etc were in. Dark Accession I think? It was way better, but that's just my opinion as someone whose never been a good pker. Weapons did a lot less damage etc. Just more straight forward. Of course if they kept things simple the game would probably have less appeal. I wouldn't say they were irrelevant because people put so much importance into RSC/Zybez but they were never really going to work because of accusations of bias etc. I can't remember exactly how they worked though. Hard to say really but I'd say for the first while RoT and DI were "tier 1" while everyone else was "tier 2". Eventually DF made it up to "tier 1", but after that DI and DF slipped down to "tier 2". DI and RoT had a big advantage at the start with name recognition, levels etc. Difference was that a lot of the DI that returned in the initial hype (guys who'd been away from the game for years) quit after a couple of months. Don't think the same happened with RoT. Probably due to RoT being closed at most a few months so guys were still around when OSRS came out. EoS got a mass join from somewhere I think? DF and VR were already open so that helped a lot.

  19. Probably the first, never really thought about it
  20. Not sure exactly why I kicked him but we probably got into some of sort of argument both of us are the kind of people who easily get hot headed. He was the kind of caller DI could of used but the serious gang couldn't handle him.
  21. Nah, no clue who wrote it. I know who did this one though https://rsplayers.fandom.com/wiki/Ghjjf
  22. I'd guess around August/September 2004 since it says 123+. Was 122 in August 04.
