  1. I'd guess around August/September 2004 since it says 123+. Was 122 in August 04.
  2. Used be spaces but tabs these days
  3. As I've said previously in the original era we had so many laughs every single day. Probably the standout incident has to be this though: http://www.di-rs.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=78636 It's a real shame the picture doesn't work anymore but it's a picture of Oergg sitting there with a massive pizza on his own. When Oergg eventually got back he was raging so hard and wanted Jeffrex kicked. There was some other really funny incidents during the single BH era where Tomisme would troll Oergg saying he died for like 10mil and Oergg would start screaming about it. Or the time about 2 hours into a pk Oergg shouting something like "Oh fuck I forgot I had a meeting starting 2 hours ago" and he ended up losing his job over it or something. Dunno how the guy didn't have a heart attack we used troll him so hard. There was some funny stuff at the start of OSRS too, before the serious gang came along.
  4. Kinda forgot about EOS in earlier questions. EOS was one clan I never liked. Even though Mar or whatever his name is was pretty funny I was never a fan. Don't really remember my reaction but it was probably pretty positive given my dislike for EOS. We were always "fans" of Ronin. Indifferent to Downfall I'd say. Don't think any events changed the impact RoT would have on the clan world in the long term because of the kind of player they were always going to attract. People do seem to forget there was a time on OSRS when they weren't very good though and would just sit at GDS until the opponent gave up.
  5. In the original era Rad, in OSRS Alex Dawg.
  6. I can't remember what happened there but I suspect Gladz dipped, seems unlikely at that time DI would of backed out of a fight unless it was some sort of setup. All I can really find is this old Gladz member list which may or may not be from around the same time period.
  7. Cause it's the one sold in edge and easy to get
  8. Yea he's high up in Google now. Haven't talked to him for a few years though. Not long after I joined DI Biga started to become a lot less active. Eventually it got to the point where he wouldn't be seen for weeks at a time and things were starting to get messy. So a couple of people, me included stepped up and started leading PK trips etc. Out of that I got promoted to Officer and things were fine for another few months. Then out of nowhere Biga showed up and said he wasn't going to be able to be leader anymore and was going to step down. Me, Kulrich and Milesjamal all got promoted to Leader. Fir3g0d wasn't happy with that and left. About a month later Biga showed up again and said he never really wanted to go inactive but Kulrich was blackmailing him etc and that he was going to come back now. Kulrich and Miles both went and made a clan with Fir3g0d and it was going to be me and Biga leading DI. The issue with that was he'd been gone for so long no one really knew who he was or respected him. When he realised that he decided it was better to leave and just let me be the leader. He made another clan and tried to get people to leave DI for it. Very few people did and after that he just disappeared. Panzer Pure was one of the people who left for the clan Kulrich, Miles and Fir3g0d created (The Renegades). That only lasted a couple of weeks. I was kind of in the right place at the right time. I didn't set out to become leader but I saw the clan was in trouble and stepped up. I can't remember what happened with Devil Dante. I know me and him had some sort of disagreement and he left. There's no leaving or kicked topic on forums.
  9. Early versions of IPB were pretty insecure. They had a lot of exploits but they required a lot of knowledge to use, Ekaggen had that knowledge. Guy was way ahead of his time. I know the exploit we used on DS forums let us extract the pass hash on metal rocks forum account and then you'd just set up firefox to make ds forums think you were on metal rocks forum account. On TD forums we got access to the database and we set up a webpage that would let us see all the PM's leaders were sending to members with vent passwords. dkm used go on TD vent with those passwords and that's how we hit them so much that they closed. RSD forums we put leadership permission mask on my guest forum account and we could read whatever we wanted. Livin threatened me with legal action after he caught us. Not fully sure how he got access to other forums, he'd literally just message me saying he's after getting admin on whatever clan site and I'd just go along with it. I accidentally deleted a clans forum once. They weren't that big but they died because of it. Ekaggen intentionally deleted a clans forums after they crashed a fight of ours. Was it unethical? Probably but we never did it for any financial gain, just did it to stay ahead of the game. If other clans had someone with the knowledge they would of.
  10. 1. As I said before we had admin access on DS forums. They kinda knew eventually I think but they weren't able to do anything about it because of the exploit we used to get in. We knew pretty much everything going on with them. That said it didn't provide an advantage on the battlefield. The geographical distribution of their members meant we simply couldn't beat them. I think we lost about 16 in a row to them but we were starting to come back and they knew that so they decided to close before we were able to beat them. The communication was almost non existent. The only one you could have a conversation with was Franzk and he always acted all high and mighty. 2. In a way it was an "epic" rivalry, probably the biggest rivalry in the history of clanning even though it was much shorter than most. They had a plan to beat DI and it worked for them. Might not agree with the tactics they used but still have to respect them for that. 3. Yamataka is a name I've been trying to remember for a few days now. Yea I was in there at the same time as her. She was leader and we were about to be accepted into the Alliance which was a pretty big deal but she did something to fuck it up and everything fell apart. She bailed for MK along with her bf who I can't remember. TDS died and we made another clan called like Wolves or something. I joined for a bit but then got recruited to DI. Ended up closing MK not long after so I guess I got my revenge on her. 4. RSD was the clan I always had the most respect for. They couldn't compete with us for a lot of factors but Livinlarge21 ran a good ship and always tried his best. I always secretly helped them where ever I could be telling them other clans spies etc. The Dynasty as well was another clan I had a lot of respect for. They always gave a fair fight at mage bank. Clans I didn't really like would be RoT after Plazahitman was usurped, AG and DS. 5. In the original era towards from about 2007 maybe become a bit more lenient on the less serious rules like praying etc. If DI members had been allow that I don't think clans like AG would ever of even been created. We would of been completely unchallenged on all fronts for as long as we wanted. 6. They are somewhat at odds with each other, but I never crossed a certain line. Ddosing, doxing, hacking of accounts were all off limits. Yes we used "hacking" to gain access to other clan forums, but no one ever lost money or anything of importance of it. It gave us an upper hand. If you can gain an advantage why not? The honor code was there for the benefit of everyone. If you knew you DI weren't going to "cheat" then everyone could have an enjoyable fight.
  11. 1. Mattbrazil definitely tried hard to emulate my style with RoT. Wouldn't say I took pride in it, but I don't blame him for it. It was successful for me so why not? My style of leadership was very different between the original era and OSRS. Members were genuinely afraid of me back in the original era because I made ruthless decisions. That kept people in line. 2. No, I doubt it. He would of had nothing to leak anyway as the only thing he'd have was stuff that made RoT look bad. 3. Probably 3 I guess, not as much of a ladies man as yourself.
  12. The money from google adsense was a lot better back then and they were really variable. On a really good day where a big topic would be dropped and we'd do like 200k page views (not unique) you'd get about $100. In total we probably made about $20k, but that isn't including the outgoing costs which were a lot. In the OSRS ad revenue was shit and was costing me money to run forums/ts/etc. Unfortunately we fucked up and ended up having to pay the IRS a lot of money in taxes. Long story short when we set up the forums and the adsense account neither me nor Ekaggen were 18, so we had to run the money through his dads bank account. Think we ended up having to pay like $5k in taxes, which basically wiped out a good bit of what we had left.
  13. Has to be poured properly and cold - You don't wanna be dealing with shit pints
  14. Definitely - "getting the topic" was everything. As soon as you posted a topic you could have upwards of 3k people looking at it. People would try take a fake ending and post a topic. With the moderation policies of Zybez they could basically decide the fight winner if it wasn't decisive victory. Everything was about image. Everyone wanted a cheap win over the top clans. Flummbullen - He didn't willingly give me the account.
  15. 1. I've got nothing there 2. Nope, spoke to him on Sunday but he hasn't been online again since so doesn't look it. I'm sure the aesthetics crew are all hanging out on a teamspeak somewhere though. 3. Was paying like $100 a month at the time and didn't really think it was worth keeping them up at that cost if it was going to die out slowly. Now they're back up because it's costing me nothing. Not that I expect them to ever get active or anything again, but it's nice to have an archive of sorts.
  16. There's no doubt about it, some of the updates were an absolute hammer blow to the PvP community, but I'd still blame players more than any update Jagex introduced. The win at all costs mentality ruined PvP for the casual player and thus was the end of the "golden era" of clanning (04-06). Alliance clans used have hundreds of members back then. They weren't all strictly PvPers but they'd still show up for a fight and add numbers to the whole thing. When things like out lasting the opponent became the norm that was the start of the decline. Why couldn't clans just be happy with their Saturday night F2P fight and leave it at an hour or two? Then it became three and four hours. Yea that'll appeal to certain people but it's a lot smaller of an audience. We shot ourselves in the foot. Removal of wilderness was obviously the final nail in the coffin but I think the clan world was already in terminal decline numbers wise. In my opinion clanning never had a chance of becoming main stream in OSRS with all the ddosing/doxing/hacking etc. I'd say we shot ourselves in the foot here again but really only one clan is to blame for that.
  17. Hepau not that I remember and see nothing on forums to indicate it. As far as I remember he was one of the good guys. Alan is a troll. I know he made that topic but it was only for trolling purposes. I didn't really care what clan people joined as I was quitting but it would of been nice if people had joined RSD (it was open at the time right?) just to bring things full circle. DI was originally opened by disenfranchised RSD members.
  18. For the original era that isn't really true. I did give some officials notice. Admittedly not a lot but I did give them some. Yes in OSRS I gave none. I only decided on the day I was quitting. In the original era there was no chance of DI existing without me, sounds arrogant or whatever but ask anyone who was a long term member back then and they'll agree. It's just the way I ran my clan. No one was there from the start until the end like I was. There was also no one ready or willing to take it on either I'd say. Sure I ended a lot of people's reason to play and took away the fun in RS for them but what other way would it of ended. I couldn't of kept going forever and it couldn't keep going without me. OSRS it could of kept going without me, but it would of been a bad idea? It wouldn't of been hard for them to start a new clan rather than trying to continue on. Starting a new clan would of been a lot smarter and allowed a refresh, rather than continue with something that certain people were trying to force down the wrong direction with personal agenda's.
  19. As I've said during fights I ran things behind the scenes and let the callers do the talking. In the original era I did talk outside of fights now and again but rarely. Not really a talkative guy I suppose.
  20. I remember him well. He was extremely passionate about EH and had a strong dislike to DI. He was very dedicated. I remember he was the last one returning at the end of the 13 or 14 hour fight when it was clear EH were beat. He just wouldn't give up. Both of us died 100+ times in that fight which at the time was crazy. I think the relationship between DI and EH was always somewhat cordial. Yes we "hated" each other but it never really went into RL flaming/out of game stuff. I think the animosity stemmed out of the breaking down of the "pact" between DI and EH's precursor ST. One somewhat dodgy thing we did do though was give VR admin access to EH forums. Can't remember why we did. Gave it to Ray (Dragon Tonna?)
