Without the "loot" there won't be an incentive for the other "clans" / "teams" to be out there in the first place. There are two kinds of trips:

    1) Loot oriented -- where you mostly hunt PVMers and small teams as you run into them.

    2) Fight oriented -- where you ignore PvMers and just hunt for PvPers and try to get into scraps.

Pre-update neither 1 nor 2 were viable. Post update it seems 1 is always feasible, and if you time the trip at a hot time 2 is very doable as well. We have had trips where we continuously ran/fought teams and ignored PvMers altogether.

So it'd say it is a "success".

To your point though, most "teams" just run immediately when outnumbered, or call for help to several open CCs (e.g., see a VR), but now there is more likelihood to run into a team with near even opts and have an organic 20+ minutes fight with both sides returning and aiming for the victory (e.g., 'The Storm' - remake of Team America).

You're not wrong but I see what he's getting at where "humiliating" them by taking a plus 1 is the bigger goal in P2P right now as opposed to clearing them off the map like it used to be. Obviously Tempest achieves both 9 times out of 10 and personally I prefer it that way, you take their loot and then you're free to leave if they try to degear and rag just like when we shat on BC/Vit saturday night. Just seems to be a big shift in mentality since macing etc became more popular. I don't believe the update itself makes that any easier to do aside from making it more likely due to increased wildy activity so I'd just chalk that up to modern clan mentalities.

I think we won't know for sure until much farther down the road. The activity has been great so far, but there's no guarantee it will be like this in 3 months, 6 months, etc.

Care to make a prediction on where you think activity will be in a month or 6 months from now?

To explain further instead of my usual shitposting:

All this update has done, like the so many before it, is further nurture an unhealthy and honestly boring culture of PKing in modern OSRS. All PKing is now are groups of retards running around in salad robes killing PvMers and other PKers for loot. Loot, loot, loot. It's the measurement of success now. Not the thrill of finding other clans or teams, not the victories. I might just be a boomer but PKing was fun when it was about hunting players, not hunting loot. And that kind of PKing has been dead for a very long time. So, if I were asked if this update helps PKing? The answer is a swift no.

Yeah I can understand that, obviously for me I'm the opposite, P2P pking has always been about the loot. Actually fighting and clearing another clan I don't really give much of a fuck about because the mechanics of "warring" in P2P has never once been enjoyable, F2P is just so much better in that regard. I think snatching +1s in P2P is much more entertaining and fun.

  4. So it's been just over 6 weeks since the rework dropped and I figured it'd be a good time to see what the overall thoughts on the update were. Personally I think it was a massive success and P2P pking hasn't been this active or fun since the original osrs rev caves were a thing, I think the balance of risk vs reward seems to be decent so far but time will tell.

    What do you fellas think?

  5. League of Legends - Everyone knows this 10/10 MOBA

H1Z1 - The pinnacle of Battle Royale games during it's peak. Pretty much set off the whole BR genre and no one did it better.

R6: Siege - Objective based FPS.

Aoe2 - GOAT classic RTS game

Rocket League - Football with rocket cars. (Hockey best game mode)

    Honourable mentions:

77daystodie - A better version of Rust but with zombies and superior crafting.

Realm Royale - The second best BR game of all time.

If you want to go into single player games these are some I played enough of and remember fondly to mention here:

    The Witcher 3 - 10./10

    Hades - 10/10

    Cyberpunk 2077 - 8/10

    Hogwarts Legacy - 7/10

    Sleeping Dogs - 9/10

    Xcom/Xcom2 - 9/10
