Are the Russians really at fault for the war?

The west plays a big part in the creation of this Russia. The squeezing and demonizing of Russia for the past 70+ years certainly didn't help. Russia thinks themselves as the most important country in the world (by years of indoctrination since way before the Tzars fell). State owns the church. Putin is defenitely crazy but considering what he and his country have been dealing with not entirely unexpected. Russia economy is shit. Apparently they have cities with 100k people that only have 1 trade (ie. fisherman). Dangerous nostalgia dreams. Neither side respecting agreements.

I don't think Putin is insane at all, everything he has done is calculated and has a reason. It might be evil reasoning, but it definitely serves in his interest. The weak leadership in the west, definitely helped facilitate this attack on Ukraine. When Russia saw the withdrawal from Afghanistan and the disaster that followed, it showed him the west has lost it's stomach for conflict and that all the internal woke drama in the states has divided the country greatly. It's an opportune time for him to try and expand his countries borders with a senile retard in the white house. When the news coverage is worried about racism and far right people being involved in the fighting, that's when you know all hope is lost for the MSM.

It's actually crazy how people are still worried about pro-noun usage when we could be on the verge of a nuclear conflict. I just read an article about how people need to socially distance in bomb shelters because of Covid, incase of a nuclear bomb being dropped. Lmao.....

Nope. You poke angry person with stick, angry person just gets more angry and does dumb shit.

The Western crusade at trying to bully other countries like Iran, Russia and China into falling in line whilst not following their own rules is arguably more fucked up than Putin trying to take back a former subject of the Soviet Union.

I very much doubt that Trump was such an amazing President that his sheer radiance made Putin bide(n) his time. It's more likely Putin thought he could re-arrange the power structure of Europe without shedding the blood of his army while the White House was occupied by a great admirer of his. In addition, there was no guarantee Trump wouldn't start a nuclear war if someone sneezed at the wrong moment, while Obummer and Corn Pop are in the more traditional mold and thus more predictable (in trying not to get the world destroyed).

I also don't think cancel culture or woke people are behind the US's deep polarization. That's just your shitty electoral system: First-Past-the-Post elections and electing only one representative per district cause (via Duverger's Law) a two-party system. In such a system, negative campaigning is the most effective way to win. In a multi-party parliamentary democracy, vehemently attacking one party generally disadvantages you, because it hurts you in addition to your target, so the "3rd parties" benefit the most. If you had that, your political discourse wouldn't be so toxic and there wouldn't be so much rage bait flying around trying to make you hate largely harmless fringe people.
