S3lvah 291 Posted July 20, 2022 Share Posted July 20, 2022 (edited) It's not like it's needed, but a good loofah purportedly helps keep your skin renewed by removing the dead stuff. In any case you'll get rid of it, tho; into the air around you if not down the shower drain. If you ever have a cast for weeks on end (due to a fracture, etc.), when it finally comes off, you'll see first-hand just how much dead skin forms in that time. As far as effort: based on my (limited) knowledge, it's better to shower every 2-3 days and use a loofah than to shower every day and not use one. This also because it's not healthy to constantly soap off your skin's natural oils.
