Nanne30 324
Buy a home/apartment/land (and build your home) or Rent And why and what are you currently doing? Edited December 12, 2023 by Nanne30
Adam_ 1,034
Buying a home is more expensive but renting is always a money pit and in many scenarios not ideal imo. Id reckon renting is very rarely considered 'better'. Building your own house is a huge step up from buying a home or condo I don't think those should be grouped and majority of ppl aren't gonna do that. Isndar 227
buying a land/home/apartment is an asset if you manage to find a family to rent your house so you pay either none or less for your asssets Quote OTP | Barrow Slayerz | RIP Peck 🇲🇾 Spoiler Walk Here Isndar (level-126) / 3 more options
Nanne30 324
@Adam_ @Isndar questions is what is better in your country to do at the moment? Keep in mind interest rates and financing possibilities. And what are you currently doing.

Pietru 1,231
If you can actually afford to save up somehow, buying a home is always the better option; you're gonna have to live somewhere though for the 20 years you'll be spending to buy one. Here in Malta we just inherit each others' houses lol Quote Tempest Old School ~ Dear You ~

Morgie 21
isnt buying always better if money isn't the issue?
Kai 292
It's dependent on too many variables. If you're staying in one for for 8+ years it's usually better to buy. But time in market is always better than timing the market. Get in when you have the money and know where you're going to live long term. Ace 632
Feel like buying is better everywhere unless you're someone that moves around a lot. It's just not as realistic in some countries. Quote Spoiler

IMK 489
Most people in this clan are from the US, and the US is far too large and diverse (in every aspect) for there to be a definitive answer. Where I live housing prices are at an all time high, home and flood insurance are at an all time high, and HOAs/COAs/POAs are everywhere and their fees are at an all time high. Whereas someone from bumfuck nowhere in Nebraska might have quite a different situation. There's literally no point in buying a home here, at least for me. I'd spend 3x the amount I spend on rent and the whole thing could be gone next hurricane season.
