I actually read about a case within the past few years where they took the olfactory nerves (for smell) and transplanted them into a paralyzed person's back and he was able to walk again. I told my professor about it back then and she's like "I wonder what made them choose the olfactory nerves?" And I'm just like "Well what other nerves would people feel comfortable removing??" Lol. Pretty dope that it actually worked though.
