The people and culture are waaaay different than those of the southern parts. We are really known for our great out doors. From mountains and lakes to our lobster industry if you like spending time outside, Maine is a great place. Winter lasts for six months here and snow falls are expected to be well over 100 inches each year. The area is at its best in the fall. When the leaves start changing it can be a sight to see.
