What seems stupid is that they're going to spend time designing some massive shitty area to replace the arena with. This replacement will probably be the most dead on arrival piece of content that the game has ever seen. If they're gonna nuke the arena, then nuke it. I remember pre-eoc outside of occasionally scamming people at the arena(toggling summoning on, shield/stealthily unticking other gear slots on), I'd usually spend every other weekend cleaned and rebuilding. The arena is far worse at this point than when I used to go. It's a cesspit with no real benefit to the game. Honestly, I'm more surprised that Jagex is doing anything really. Scamming isn't really my concern. There's always going to be idiots that get scammed for their banks. Staking just isn't healthy in general though. I'm surprised to see Jagex doing anything about this at all. Besides that, the RWT does benefit Jagex, unless they want to start selling GP themselves. I personally love the arena but I rarely use it. Kinda fun to go in and chuck 3-5% of my bank and just hope for the best.
