  1. What was the catalyst for you checking out mentally months before closing OSRS DI? Did other clans (that you know of) really focus that much on individual member quality to the extent that it seemed DI did? With mandatory videos of all types of events, and being kept from applying for member before they were deemed ready? If not, why did DI focus on it so much? The DI community was extremely difficult for some FAs to integrate with. Do you think that was more of the community's fault not being open and receptive to new faces and actually trying to integrate new applicants in? I remember it being pretty hard to talk to anybody that wasn't a rank or Junior who I had known for 10+ years, so I can sympathize with FAs that were told their involvement sucked.
  2. If you're bored some day, look through them and sling them on pastebin for the lads
  3. Do you (or anyone) have your old IRC logs? Can you look up the masshlgate logs and post them for posterity? By my math and kick topics, it should have been the night of August 5th 2016.
  4. I remember laughing my ass off the entire time, but I think it showed the massive divide between the two types of members in the clan. I think DI's community needed to land somewhere between both extremes of fun and seriousness for the longevity of the clan, but masshlgate was the turning point where you could tell things were going to always be way too serious.
  5. Is this feature still functional? When did it stop working?
  6. At the time I was active, RoT had a spy in every single clan except DI, seemingly. Was there a reason RoT didn't attempt to infiltrate DI? With the way you were known for catching them, I would have thought they would have taken that on as a challenge. Or were communications between you and their leadership enough that they felt they didn't need to keep tabs on us?
  7. Are you still working from home? Are you vaccinated? You pretty much religiously would not be home on Friday nights (I remember masshlgate [RIP] was on one of those fateful Friday nights). What did you do on Friday nights during the pandemic when the bars were closed?
  8. Is there a Mrs. Ghjjf in your life? How long was your longest RL relationship? What was life like growing up in Ireland? I think you're at most 2 or 3 years older than I am, but I wonder how much different the US and other parts of the world are in terms of nurture and environment growing up. If someone visited Ireland today, what would be the one thing you would say they couldn't miss seeing or doing?
  9. Can you find flush.webm for me? It won't ever load on di-rs.com for me, but I forgot my login and that could be the reason why.
  10. I guess I should rephrase this whole question; Olde's DI pulled a 'Weekend at Bernie's' with the corpse of DI, pretty much continuing everything that was set up previously with very little change. It was obvious that it was going to go nowhere, and I was surprised it lasted as long as it did. That leads me to believe that the issues that led to DI dying were around before Olde's DI. What issues do you think there were that caused DI to set down the path towards closure? As leader, I'm sure you knew where the shortcomings were and how to best work around them.
  11. What would you say, in hindsight, caused OSRS DI to flounder towards the end? I'm wondering more-so internally, as externally the crash war was a huge factor on the clan world as a whole. Other clans were able to adapt and overcome, and they survived (to varying degrees) while DI didn't. DI had member numbers better suited to a midsized clan a lot of the time, and recruiting was a struggle that was ever-present. Why do you think recruiting was as bad/hard as it was? What kept us from fighting midsized clans more often in the wilderness? There was a lot of time we struggled to get wild events, but there were a lot of clans down a bracket that we didn't interact with much outside of the occasional CWA.
  12. What was the relationship between you and Tommy T Bone/other special guests in the OSRS DI era? They seemed to get a lot of passes and were pretty much members of the clan in their own way. It always felt like you were difficult to talk to, but if I ever spoke to you or asked you something you always answered. However, there were some guys out there that you initiated conversation with. Was there a reason you initiated with some, but otherwise only responded when spoken to?
  13. Funny enough, you could say that he was a part of our anti-leadership clique lol. He was good/RL? friends with Derfnop and we spoke on Derfnop's RL friend group's TS quite often. He was the complete polar opposite of how he composed himself on RS. He was definitely dedicated though. After your DI, I don't know if he went into Olde's Nu-DI or not, but I do know he broke out of his shell and actually went back to school for something in computers I believe, as well as got a job.
  14. That was the perfect blend of enticing people to try it without making things mandatory, which is how it should have always been. At one point it became mandatory to participate, and it turned off a lot of people because it wasn't something that many people wanted to do, and was forced on us. Most didn't play the game besides events, and didn't have the money to front for that kind of gear. I think officials may not have wanted a repeat of the 100v100, but most members (and probably those officials too) probably realized that it was a long shot for us to have a real chance of beating anyone we would have been matched with in that 100v100.
  15. That's probably fair, I was outwardly outspoken and liked to play devil's advocate whenever it seemed necessary in order to drum up actual conversation instead of "(Y)" and "you're not wrong" which isn't constructive. I would say a lot of the dissent unranked members had including myself was because we never felt valued or heard, which looking at Tempest I'm glad has changed at least with you because nowadays you seem like the Brian that OSRS DI needed. If we had attempted then what Tempest is doing now, I feel like we could have been much more successful.
  16. Do you have any DI records older than April of 06? I was kicked from being a Future Member of DI (I think the rank had a dark purple color) in what was probably late 05, early 06? I vaguely remember I was thought to be spying for either Dragon Tonna/Deerslayer17, or someone in that vein, and I had no idea who they even were at the time. How much intel did the BNC you hosted in 2016/2017 provide you on what people were saying behind closed doors to each other? Did you find out anything interesting besides general lack of morale and memes? I applied (at least I think I did) for council at the end of 2016, was I ever in contention for the role? What kept me from getting it? You previously said in your past AMA that some of the ending DI officials directly contributed to the downfall of OSRS DI and you came to the conclusion that you couldn't work with them. In this AMA, you said a couple of them were some of the best officials in the OSRS era. Can you explain the contradiction? Slim pickings? Or is there more to it? What caused the intense focus on RSB throughout the end of OSRS DI? Did you really think the Jcup was coming that soon that we needed to focus that hard on something that most of the clan had little, if any, interest in doing?
  17. If my favorite Resident Evil game is 2, and I haven't touched 4-6, will I get enjoyment out of the new style of game that are Biohazard and Village?
