Pro Life or Pro Choice?

If society actually gave a fuck about "life" instead of politicizing abortion (religious core etc) then it wouldn't be an issue. But it is because that "life" is forgotten about the minute they're born. Stagnated wages for unskilled workers, continuous cuts to welfare benefits (especially single parents), a completely atrocious and hellish social services system with orphanages, scuffed adoptions, and awful foster homes (lack of funding, the endless documentation of sexual assault, etc). Most of the people who abort do so because of financial instability and it's ridiculous to bring a "life" into the world just so both parties (child and parent) suffer just to spite the parent for "making the choice to have sex".

Tl;dr: I'm pro-choice

But according to these definitions, I am pro-choice. I do not feel that it is the right of the government to be involved in such matters of morality. These are individual choices, complex, not always black and white. These matters must remain free from government legislation and involvement. For the government to suddenly decide to "make abortion illegal" would make this country much less a democracy and more of a theocracy. The same applies to gay marriage. The state should have no say on who marries who. Freedom of choice is what made America in the first place.  Despite being a man of faith, I do not want to live under a man made theocracy.

Summed up my views pretty well

Exactly my thoughts. I fail to understand why people would want a baby brought into a family that doesn't want them or can't afford them. Sure there are some cases where the baby gets lucky and adopted right away but not always, especially if the adopting parents saw what the biological parents were like. They just end up being tossed around the foster system instead of settling into a home and loving family. Pretty garbage "life" those poor souls earned.

So yeah. Pro-choice. No matter the circumstances. Although if an abortion is decided, it should be done in early pregnancy.  My husband and I have had this discussion and are on the fence about having kids. He's pro-choice as well and supports whichever way I go should I get pregnant since he believes it's my ultimate decision since it's my body.
