I had similar experiences to others being in a leadership role at a young age, which helps to teach strategic thinking and mentally simulating the outcomes of decisions made. However, something that I didn't see in the thread yet that probably many of us could consider is that Runescape kept me out of trouble as a rowdy teenager. When I was in middle/early high school before I found Runescape, I was starting to hang out with a bad crowd. While most of my friends were about 14, we had an older guy in our group with a truck who we thought was just about the coolest guy ever. That older guy was getting us to do stupid things that could have ended us up in a lot of trouble. While I wasn't the most rowdy of my friends, I remember being along for the ride when mailboxes were blown up with fire works, my friends were stealing lumber supplies from a building site to build a tree house, and I remember being chased into the woods by police sirens after exploring an abandoned building. I also remember being knocked out after our group got into a fight with another group of rowdy teenagers (I was lucky, one of our group got his jaw broken and had to drink ensure milk as his food for a few months). Playing Runescape got me into a different group of friends and I spent less and less time with my old ones. I've got a good life now. Never really been in any serious trouble as an adult and I (unfortunately) can't say the same about some of my old friends. Thanks for making me a nerd, Runescape.

Many memories. I don't know why this was the first thing I thought of, but I missed pking in Runescape Classic at dark wizards northwest of Edgeville on my pure. Using a rune dagger to disguise my hits when fighting monsters and then switching to an R2H when people skulled on me.

Answered yes, but really depends on the circumstances. It snows rarely where I am, but tends to dump when it does. Two years ago, we had 3 feet over the course of 2-3 days and I lost power for over a week. Not fond of running the generator 24/7 to keep pets and refrigerated goods alive.

Man... this brings back memories. I knew him when he was in The Devilz and was one of their lowest combats ranging every fight. I P2P pked with Venom long before EH was created and after EH died, rather than join a clan, I pked with him and a few other old friends. I have nothing but the best to say for Venom, and it is crazy to think I've known this guy for over half my life. Hoping everything works out with the court irl and great to see you around.

Hey WL, thank you for doing this AMA. Have two questions for you folks. First, as a country clan, the vast majority (all?) of your members are Brazilian. Do you think that is something that has overall been a positive for recruitment (Portuguese speakers would naturally gravitate toward the clan/community) or a negative for recruitment (subsetting the potential member pool to a small part of Runescape's base players)? Second, and more selfishly, any thoughts/memories on the following dinosaurs... or any word on where they may have ended up? Decceiver (my fellow EH metal lover), S2 Guh S2 (I miss Gustavo and his positive attitude), Afonsosuper, Armorhelmet3, Dark Falco13 (this guy was a wild man), and Thicombra (may be misspelled slightly) The EH Brazillian unit was one that we've mostly lost contact with and were really core members of our community. Hope they're doing well, where ever they are out there.

Thank you to @true, Tempest, and Tempest community members for the thought-provoking questions and the opportunity to relive some of these old memories. Really appreciate S17, Xero, Grug, and other EH members who have contributed to this topic to add their own perspectives. Lastly, thanks to the old friends and rivals to EH for helping to build memories that last after ten years of the clan being closed. We were all part of a very special thing in the clan world of that period, and I'll look back on that time with fondness and nostalgia.

My favorites were: Clan karaoke Drunken 'B' movie night Fishing guild events (this might seem silly, but it was really just a chance to get everyone together to hang out and chat while not paying attention to RS) EH Dota (featuring Tyreal raging on everyone for being bad)

As what I'd mentioned earlier, I felt like I could have done a much better job of mentoring. As my successor, I saw the most potential in Nullusion and Slaughter for different reasons. With Nullusion, especially, I spent a lot of time scenario planning and running through different tactical ideas. I saw in Nullusion: 1.) an interest in the tactical, 2.) a lot of experience as a pk leader, 3.) good fall in leader, and 4.) a good motivator. Nullusion was extremely dedicated to EH, and was one of the ones working hardest toward our success. With Slaughter I saw that he: 1.) inspired confidence in the members, 2.) was probably our best fall in leader, 3.) was a quick learner. Slaughter definitely had a lot of respect from the members and leadership team. Both of these individuals had success in the clan world after EH, with Nullusion currently leading DR. For Officers, I especially saw potential in Tristan138 and Ava_Ad0re. Both of these were introspective, thoughtful individuals who helped to advance the community of the clan. I don't think either of these folks would have comprised on our ideals. We had many other officers/members who I felt really excelled as mentors to new members, some of whom include, Fiercechamp, Stokiedeb, Swtkittn, MajinVegeta, Rocky, and Lil Blaknite.

Unfortunately, 98% of the logs aren't of interest. They're talking about random daily happenings or just friendly chatter. One day I wouldn't mind sorting through them to pull out the interesting conversations. I'd be really concerned though about posting them, because there is personal or private information that was said in the confidence of only leaders being around, that it isn't my place to post without permission of all those involved. I always got along with him well, but he didn't have the personality of a leader. I'm unaware of anyone in EH who was a spy for another clan. The language I used earlier in the thread when I referred to DI having spies was an issue where DI had access to our forums through an unknowing member. From Ghjjf's AMA he also mentioned that he gave our forum access to VR. We occasionally had people get caught intentionally giving our worlds to enemy clans and punished accordingly.

This one is a big yes, how the civilized man does his business on the go.

Country clans played and important role in EH's history. Many of our capped PKRIs, miniwars, and fun/practice events were with country clans. The clans we were close with and did practice events with changed throughout history, but the clans I'd mention here were some of the staples. RDC - Probably the country clan we jointly held events with most frequently. Their leader (Dubbel Drank) was an EH member. RDC was an excellent friendly clan to EH in that they were extremely organized, capable of pulling a similar number of people to us, and had a community that many members in EH really liked. As in Xero's history post, RDC defeated EH in an official war, and EH had a really strong warring record. LF - Especially early on in EH's history, LF was capable of pulling very large numbers. We were not as close with LF as we were with RDC, but we had many fights against them. TRWF - Not a traditional country clan, but being heavily European-based, I'd put them here. TRWF was widely acknowledged as having great organization and pulling great numbers. EH was closest with TRWF for the first few years. I think (but may be remembering things incorrectly) that one of the TRWF leaders was not as big of a fan of EH near the end of our time and I'm unsure why. If there were negative feelings toward EH, the feelings were one-sided with EH always respecting TRWF. MMA - MMA was a smaller clan, but had many overlapping members with EH. We occasionally held joint practice fights with them and were very amenable to assisting their growth however we could. I believe all of the country clans I've mentioned here are not given a fair place in clan history. They were all large, organized, and motivated enough to take a win off the top clans in capped time or no returning fights. EH members had a really healthy respect for these clans and always treated fights with them seriously.

No grudges held for things that happened 10 years ago when we were all a whole lot younger. Glad to see you still around and hope life has treated you well. This one depends on when the fight occurred. Milad was younger than Rocky back in EH, so if they got into a fight during EH times, Rocky would have won. If we're talking about a fight occurring today, Rocky is a geezer and Milad is still in his prime. Rocky would have the moves and technique to win a fight given his countless hours studying Floyd Mayweather, but Milad would have the craziness factor going for him, with an unpredictable fighting style. Thanks for posting this. I don't remember writing this one, but no one still contactable in EH leadership can recall who wrote it. It is possible that it was Broski, but the embellishing and emotive language looks more like something I would have written than him. Much of this history was before Islamia's time. Whatever the case, the story is incomplete. I think the folks on this AMA should get together with Null, DP9, Ava_Ad0re, Swt, and other important folks from the period to finish it before it is lost to time.
