  1. Durrette is a top tier dude. Just a young man on his quest to find a mate. I still keep in touch.
  2. Thoughts on Jerico, Joe Jeninz, and Blaze Mace? Thoughts on The Devilz clan? Given your description of Andy as a "Saturday only type of guy" and your time in EoS, do you think Corruption would have been stronger or weaker if they shifted to more weekday pking/higher activity?

Nice work on this, looks really good.
  4. I can't remember if we were in Gladz at the same time or if you were in "The" by the time I was in Gladz. 1.) I would agree that what did a lot of damage to Gladz was differences of opinion of the focus of the clan within the community. I don't know that I agree that what caused the rift in Gladz was trying to compete with DI. Gladz and DI were extremely different clans and I don't personally think that any members of Gladz were having serious aspirations to topple DI in PKRIs. A high proportion of the Gladz members were there for comunity and were not interested in long PKRIs, being active in the wilderness for non-planned fights, or for returning. For the most part, Gladz only really seemed to care about warring. I believe the loss to BK in a war had a much bigger impact on Gladz morale than any PKRI lost to DI (shout out to @Vanzant). There were cliques in the clan that went off and did their own pking thing (e.g., the Ewhenn/Geezerpunk P2P single pkers, the P2P multi pkers that hung around with The Devilz, the Sal Bandini/Echo69x F2P pk group) in small groups rather than as one big clan. I think the rift was caused by Gladz not knowing what it wanted to be, competing interests, and a leadership that wasn't working toward a unified/progressive goal. From the outside, it looked like the issues with "The" are similar. What do you think the key differences were? 2.) Again comparing Gladz/"The", would you consider yourself to be the Finaltank of "The"? 3.) You mentioned that prior to going to Corr, your choice was DF or Corr. Most of your discussion about why Corr was good was due to their strength - something that was shared by many clans during that period, including DF. How do you think your experience would have differed if you chose DF rather than Corr? Do you think that today you'd have a lot of pride as an ex-DF member who had many distasteful memories of Corr? Probing to try to find what was special about Corr for you.
  5. Looking for any stories of old fights that you remember for having major last minute changes of pace or those that came down to the wire on the winner. For me, I had almost forgotten about this fight, but remembered the time that Pequ single handedly defeated 250 options of DF. Can't remember any other times when a no returning fight came down to a 1 vs. 1. http://www.di-rs.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=43684&hl=pequ @Krystal
  6. It is hazy to me since it was so long ago but here is my best shot. I think that Islamia and I saw a lot of potential in MG as a longtime, model member in the clan. We were really appreciative of the contributions he had and thought that, through training, he might be a good pk leader. We made the wrong call as he should have been a council member and there were many normal members who were great callers and could have fulfilled that pk leader role. I think MG recognized this and he didn't go out of his way to force his position. He would show deference on leading fall ins to the members who were good callers (such as yourself) and only take them if he was the last option on the battlefield. Other than MG and Striker, I have to say that I was rarely disappointed by the pk leaders we had. With Nullusion, Xero, and S17 usually being the names recognized by old clan members, I'd give a special shout out to Uber N00blet, Rvcwrestler, X Zach 02, and J50. I can remember moments where each had really impressive performances.
  7. Unfortunately, I agree as well. MG was a great member, skilled tank, and all around awesome dude. He never really seemed very comfortable or confident calling and it wasn't the right call to try to thrust him into that position. In EH the other member who stood out to me as a weak caller was Striker 36. I remember him being temperamental while calling and getting frustrated easily during fights. He only stuck around in the clan for the first few months after its creation. I can't comment on callers from other clans as I did not experience their abilities personally. I can't comment on my time in Gladz as it was so long ago that I can't remember much about what took place on audio.

  10. Hey Matt, hope you're doing well old buddy.
  11. Random blog documenting a few weeks of fights, during which 4 separate clans (VR, DF, EH, Corr) had pulls greater than 100 people and DI had a pull of 150. http://clangen.blogspot.com/2009/03/
  12. I would argue that the 2006-2010 period was one of the most competitive for clans. Prior to that period, there were long stretches of dominance for DS, DI, and RSD in PKRIs. After that period (which I was not around for so I can't comment on first hand), I've heard that RoT held a dominant position for several years. If you were to take a random time snapshot and ask "who is the number 1 clan?" in the 2006-10 period, the answer was really a toss up between DF, DI, VR, CORR, RSD, TT, EH, and EOS, and fluctuated month to month. However, while clans rose or fell, I would note that some clans (such as DI and DF) were more stable over the period, generally being in the rank 3-5 range, with some periods of competing for #1 and some periods slightly lower than 5. I would say that other clans had more variance on their positions (such as VR and EH), which tended to be doing very well (1-3) or be just outside of of the rank 5 range. Looking back on things, I would say that EoS were the kings of variance when it came to that period. There were multiple periods when EoS was in contention for #1, but outside of those periods, I remember EoS typically being lower on the totem pole. EoS had periods of doing well characterized by extremely high activity, where they PKed multiple times a week and got huge pulls. Then EoS had periods where you didn't really hear much from them. Reading through the AMA responses, it sounds like much of the EoS team had no motivation to play Runescape other than for clan fights. Therefore, my deduction on the behavior of EoS as a clan is that the fluctuation would be caused by a consistent memberbase, but a sizable part of that memberbase going inactive during periods when EoS wasn't competing for that top spot. 1.) Do you agree with the above statements regarding variance (particularly related to EoS) or am I talking out of my ass? 2.) Do you think I accurately characterized the likely cause of EoS' swings, or do you think something else was at play? 3.) If you agree with #1, did the variance of EoS bother you? Was it ever acknowledged by leadership and were actions ever taken to stabilize things?
  13. Hey Krystal. One of my oldest friends still around.
  14. @Mar What is your real life occupation? You're an incredibly witty dude. For both: EoS transitioned from being black capes, to rainbow capes, to (at times) actively choosing the opponent's cape color. My guess was that EoS did this to be different or to be annoying to opposing clans. I could see this giving an inherent (though probably small) advantage in fights as EoS would be used to fighting with this tactic and less reliant on using capes to identify next targets during pile transitions. Was the reason for changing from black capes to other capes a tactical one, a "get under the opponents skin" reason, or a combination of both? Thanks for participating in this!
  15. Interesting how some in EH (and DF) felt that DI's weakness was lack of fall in leaders. And that DI saw EH's weaknesses as the same: http://www.di-rs.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=54228 For what its worth, I didn't see EH or DI's weaknesses as lack of fall in leaders. DI had ~5 that seemed to perform very well, and it is quite difficult to eliminate 5 folks from a fight for any significant amount of time before the first that you had killed returns to the fight. I don't really remember there being too many moments in EH audio where there wasn't someone capable of leading in the fight. After Slaughter, Nullusion, Zach, myself, Rvcwrestler, Uber N00blet, and Xero, we had back up callers in Blazzin, Milad, and Master Gokou. But weaknesses of a clan varied from fight to fight and throughout the duration of their existence. Every clan occasionally had periods of low pulls, sloppy organization, and/or lack of leadership present.
  16. It was too bad these guys never really became a thing. It was incredibly impressive how quickly they gained numbers and had some talented members on their roster. EH was really motivated in fighting them for their first major fight. We felt like Syn chose us because they saw us as weak and wanted to make a statement early to the clan world about being able to compete with the top clans.
  17. A few random things to bring back Nostalgia. Some related to clans, some not. - When brawling gloves were first added to Runescape, and for the first few days, everyone was killing each other no iteming for gloves. - When "dragging" away from the members gate area was considered "dishonorable." - The Corruption multi-colored elephant. - When whips were first added, mystic robe tops protected over whips, which caused most folks to use splitbark. - Contesting axe hut as the best melee training location. - Training with mystic staffs at earth warriors before d scim/whip existed. - The Wilderness Guardians create a clan advertisement in Times Square (I feel like this one is true and vaguely remember it... might be misremembering or reciting an unsubstantiated rumor). - The Zybez RAW power rankings (based off warring).
  18. I think this one might have been a different fight. Seeing the old names on the friendslist. Archerpower0 and 8309.
  19. First of all, I'd like to say thanks for being willing to participate in this thread. Really appreciate the insights into the old history. 1.) I always considered TT to be more of a clan that kept to themselves. From a Zybez standpoint, it seemed like there was less of a focus on publicity and a greater focus inward. I could see this having advantages and disadvantages. Forum presence works as advertising in the clan world, but TT also (from my perspective) did a great job of staying out of the flaming and crash wars. Was TT's decision to keep distant from much of the clan world drama a leadership choice, a difference in philosophy in the memberbase, or something else entirely? 2.) In its earlier days (and perhaps later too?), TT had a memberbase that was more GMT focused than many of its competing clans (DF, CORR, EH, VR, EOS). In approximately 2006, I remember TT's rise to power and that many of its competitor clans were also GMT-focused clans that were extremely powerful with strong pulls, quality memberbases, and great organization. I'm thinking clans like TRWF, TMRD, LF, and RDC. For the most part those clans opted for a style that was more focused on wars or capped PKRIs. Was the choice for TT to be more focused on uncapped PKRIs than many of the GMT clans an active one or something that just organically happened? 3.) TT was known for having some of the best man-for-man organization and especially for its tanks. Did you have any sort of "combat" mentorship programs or training events to onboard new members?
  20. I think the highest single clan pull I was ever involved in was the 2005 Gladz vs. BK war - though I remember that being closer to 200 vs. 200. The highest PKRI pull I remember was a few times that EH pulled maxed options to fights, with probably a maximum pull of around 140. The largest fight I remember being involved in is hazy, but I think I recall a fight one time of EH + DF + TT vs. VR + Corr + EOS.
