We tried fighting RSD/EH/VR but we didn't have enough talented numbers to really compete with you guys. Exodus / CL and the top 8 - were really where Syndicate belonged. It was a fun change of things but mid clan fighting isn't the same as fighting for #1 lol. Few vids of the fights.

Fun. Thank you for the throwback. It could have been something but nobody developed real friendships and everyone would hop onto their own Vent / TS after a fight. I remember about three maybe five people would idle at a time. Not to imply that I wasn't part of that problem as well.

Syndicate was a clan that was created in 2009. The idea to create the clan started when interclan drama broke out in the #2 F2p clan at the time, Corruption between Corruption leader Demonchild27 and Corruption Warlord Lukas1400. Corruption's arch rival Divine Forces were clearly #1 and there were disagreements within the leadership team in Corruption on what to do with the clan's future. In the midst of several consecutive 15+ hour losses to DF, tensions were high and a breaking point erupted within CoR.

Lukas's proposal on what to do next was to mass recruit and bring in a lot more members into Corruption to compete with Divine Forces who outnumbered and therefore were outperforming CoR. Demonchild disagreed and was content with accepting defeat and maintaining the #2 rank while trying to get fights with the other top clans such as RSD, TT, EH, DI, VR, and EOS who were quickly closing the power gap to the #2 rank. During the leadership meeting, Corruption high council D2master12 asked Lukas to specifically name who he had ready to join CoR in order to realize the credibility of Lukas's argument. Lukas mentioned ex-VR Warlord Kronca and pest sniper 45chris2, among many other known clanners whom he did want to disclose. However, not only did Demochild reject the idea, he said that those people would never be accepted into CoR because of their questionable pasts such as Kronca's glitching in duel arena and 45chris2's record of crashing planned fights. Fed up with Demonchild who had a bad history of breaking up the core leadership team in Corruption multiple times, Lukas approached D2master12 and asked him if he would be interested in creating their own clan to compete with the other top clans in the game. Lukas had also been talking with VR founder Stephen22288, Collision Leader Hios, and mass recruiting specialist Tukuruk91 about opening up a new clan. D2master, who was close to retiring, agreed to help and Syndicate was born. Other starting ranked officials included The Stricken Cards Founder Zero Fear1, VR Founder General Shop, Rune Raiders Warlords Dennisnator0 (Dennisbruv) & J40k, Corruption official Mithwiz, Reign of Terror Council Ice Tonkice, and Blacknights Warlord Paul18243. Other non-ranked members included Reign of Terror Leader And1bball22, Aggression Leader Odin666, and Corruption Warlord Gwarzo.

Syndicate Starting Officials

With such an impressive gathering of officials and members, the Runescape community was already ranking Syndicate as high as the #6 clan in the game during a very competitive top 10 era before the clan had even opened. When the announcement became public and the Syndicate officials left their respective clans, the entire clan world was shocked and also with the news that Syndicate declared their first official fight would be against the former top 3 clan, Eternal Honour. Eternal Honour was a stable top 5 clan but were in a bit of a slump in their terms, but nonetheless a formidable opponent for any of the top clans in the game. Syndicate's aim was to send a message to the clan world that they weren't afraid to fight the best established clans and that they were trying to break into the top 5 rankings right out of the gates.

With a memberlist surpassing 110 in less than a week, the clan world was suspensefully waiting to see what Syndicate was capable of.

A day prior to the Eternal Honour fight, Syndicate had a no preparation PK trip where they fought the respected Australian clan, Chivalry Legions and pulled 60 people to their first event. Syndicate delivered a one sided beatdown and further gained the clan world's attention by earning their first victory. The win made the clan world only more anxious to see how they would perform against the daunting task in front of them which was EH.

Highly motivated and insulted by Syndicate's first fight choice, EH pulled a whopping 90 people starting vs Syndicate's 75 people starting. EH performed like the top clan that they were and overwhelmed Syndicate with their talented numbers, loyal binders, and experienced sniper unit who overmatched the majority of Syndicate's members who had never even been in a top 6 clan before. EH ended Syndicate in 45 minutes and in the months to follow retook the #1 rank in the game with victories over RSD, CoR, VR, and DF.

In the aftermath of such a bad defeat, some of the starting officials and members who had wanted to break into the top 5 immediately quit and the clan experienced it's first mass leaving. Dennisbruv, J40k, Lewisward14, and the ex Rune Raiders members that they brought all mass quit and joined DF. However, at the same time, Syndicate also experienced another mass joining boost from new players who wanted to be a part of the new clan hype despite the loss from EH. Notable members who joined at this time were former 'THE' / The Rising Warlord Hscrusader07 and Fatal Premonition leader Da Bum69 who brought nearly all of FP with him. Rejuvenated and determined to continue their path to break into the top 5, Syndicate further declared a non returning full out war against the #7 ranked clan, Violent Resolution. Although VR won, Syndicate put up a respectable fight and there was still a lot of promise in the clan.

After a few weeks of several moral boosting wins, Syndicate declared 1 hour prep uncapped PKRI against Runescape Dinasty, the #5 clan. RSD pulled 60 people and Syndicate pulled 50. Although the start of the fight was close, RSD started gaining numbers and took the upper hand within about 30 minutes of fighting and eventually ended Syndicate in 1 hour 30 minutes and ended with 80 people.

In the midst of tough hard fought battles, key officials and members began to stand out as big contributors to the clan. Da Bum69 was promoted to Co-Leader, Mithwiz and Allen1503 were promoted to High Council, Hscrusader07 was promoted to Warlord, and Daniel40 and Ironman2008 were promoted to head of application managers.

Despite the loyal member base and core leadership team that had been established, it was clear to everyone that Syndicate was not going to be able to break into the top 8 anytime soon. At the same time of being pushed down to the #9 ranking, another newer clan, Exodus was emerging out of the pack of the #10 ranking as a new contender. Exodus was offended that Syndicate had just opened and instantly leapfrogged all the other clans that had been working hard to compete for the #10 rank. Debate broke out on Runescape Community of which clan was better; Syndicate or Exodus, and a heated rivalry ensued from the passionate clan members from both sides who flamed and argued over which clan was better. As things were often settled, Syndicate declared a 1 week uncapped PKRI against Exodus to determine who was the better clan.

The epic battle lasted 9 hours of intensity which traditionally did not occur for clans fighting in the #10 and below ranking which is why it has been recalled for many of those players participating in the fight as one of the most memorable fights of their careers. The fight was back and forth for the first few hours of the fight with Syndicate gaining an upperhand around the 3 hour mark which lasted for a few hours until the 5 hour mark, then the power control went back and forth through the 7 hour mark, until finally Exodus came out victorious after 9 hours of fighting.

Shortly after the Exodus fight, Lukas1400, D2master12, and Mithwiz were satisfied with the creation experience and abruptly closed the clan despite controversy within the leadership team about whether or not to close. Just as fast as Syndicate started was as fast as it came to an end. Stunned by the decision to close, the clan world was in awe as, once again, everyone was blindsided with the announcement of the clan closure. Although the clan was short lived, the fun memories still remain with those who partook on both sides of the battles and it has been often referenced that Syndicate/Exodus were a stepping stone for a lot of players who were previously in the #10 and below clans to step into, and in a lot of cases take over leading the top clans in the game.
