At the time I was active, RoT had a spy in every single clan except DI, seemingly. Was there a reason RoT didn't attempt to infiltrate DI? With the way you were known for catching them, I would have thought they would have taken that on as a challenge. Or were communications between you and their leadership enough that they felt they didn't need to keep tabs on us?

Was Foy banning fellars off irc, forums and ts for a few highlights warranted in your opinion? As one of the instigators this was a massive overreaction and just made things worse imo. No doubt in my mind all of the people that got involved after the bannings (many who weren't even OTF) did so because the overreaction made it funnier. The telegram chit and the majority of the highlights came after Foy started whacking people everywhere.

 

Think getting fully kicked was for the best tho as when I was retired I'd come back for the community but my heart wasn't in the game anymore and i'd just stop caring towards the end. Same with @inf` probs.

Basically Eric had some way of putting a bit of code into one of them and he'd know when some took a picture of them. Presumably this only worked with the printscreen key like other clans were doing in later years. Screenshot tools weren't as popular then.

Also what ultimately led to the PKL decision which according to Inf, was to put it bluntly apparently overdue. I do recall going through a phase I joined loads of teams and would repeatedly call against DI and it was largely because I wanted a shot.

How many people would you estimate were booted for scamming?

 

How many people did you catch skipping by seeing them gaining exp/whatever when they were pretending to be unavailable or had other excuses for not being on trips?

 

I saw a few topics where people were removed because they got banned and it seemed you specified they didn't have accounts that they were owners of in some cases. Would you not allow them to remain in the clan if they didn't own the account? Was this for concerns of it belonging to someone outside the clan and them accessing it to impersonate the person or use it maliciously some other way?

This is the Beyblade (Michael) who went on to be in the most recent iteration of TR right? I heard he was never insanely trustworthy.

Can you elaborate more on this situation? Think I saw another topic elsewhere on the forums but no idea what happened to it or what section it's in, I think it named the person though? 

Why did the people involved do this and did you find out whether more people / who was involved?

I remember laughing my ass off the entire time, but I think it showed the massive divide between the two types of members in the clan. I think DI's community needed to land somewhere between both extremes of fun and seriousness for the longevity of the clan, but masshlgate was the turning point where you could tell things were going to always be way too serious.

I try to think about what the main difference was between the old days and now. Why did I enjoy it more then? Maybe age, maybe it was more new to me, but I came to the conclusion that it was standards{agree/disagree?}. If you ran from Dm's you could be declined from joining a honor clan. Now? You can scam people, join the same clan that you scammed people from 6 months later. I even remember how people like Themario, Xxhotshot x and shit would be at MB, they were the jokes of the clan world because they would pray 1v1 in dhides and a whip, while calling you a bunch of racist shit lol. Eventually that group of people turned into the modern day Rot. That persona of being rebellious, not conforming with the honor code that most clans abided by, really gave them the identity they still have to this date. While at the same time it dragged down the entire community and we got to the point where hacking forums was cool, hacking accounts was acceptable and etc. What's your take on it?

Yea returning kinda started around late 04 early 05. Was considered kinda no honour but got accepted by everyone eventually. Was an inevitable evolution of the game.

 

Overall it was just a simpler time. Stuff wasn't analysed to death like it is now. I think people are better gamers now and that's a lot of it. Everything was also "new" in a way even up to 2006. We've been doing the same thing for 15, 16, 17 years now and it's never going to be as fun as it was the first time. The stuff like scamming while bad pales in comparison to the stuff that went on in later years. Them guys were pretty innocent.

e:  We never really had many Aussie/NZ members, why do you think we had such a challenge recruiting from that timezone? It's not like we were inactive in that timezone, especially with GMT magebank trips etc. I remember Roger Selma and Kazamastyle (? was he an AG spy in the end?) and maybe a few others but beyond that....  Other clans seemed to always have more, and they didn't even do events in that timezone... 

Not really. I think in the case Woodly was kinda done with the game anyway. There was definitely no coming back for Yoeni after what people felt about his actions on RSC. Probably shouldn't have kicked Woodly though.

 

Yea it's strange really we never had many Australians. Might have been the legacy of a lot of Australians were in DS meaning they'd have been anti DI or something.

What are some lessons you feel you may have learned with a different operating staff in Tempest than in OSRS DI? If you could transplant some staff & members from here back in time, who would you take to OSRS DI?

Probably the main one is the delegation. Not that it wasn't something I didn't know how to do, just something I didn't do because I wasn't sure it would work well. It clearly does here.

 

Probably the main person would be @The Endcause he's always on top of stuff like I used to be and it would've been good to have an extra set of eyes. Also@Howlbecause I didn't really have anyone to discuss tech projects with.

When we sided with each other they didn't need a spy. That's not to say they didn't though. They just wouldn't have been obvious about it.
