  1. This statement holds very true for the path I took. I'm in love with my current job situation, but man, I was basically a "professional ass wiper" as my coworkers and I used to say and wiped literal shit and vomit off the walls for over a decade and got screamed at by people daily. Literally had a patient say "GET FURTHER IN MY ANUS" one time when I was cleaning her. And then proceeded to tell me that I was terrible at my job. But I knew it wasn't forever, and every time I would have a terrible shift, I would tell myself "Do. not. drop. out. of. school. again. Stay positive. Stay focused." And eventually I got there. Was a struggle working full time & going to school part-time for 5 years (full-time during my senior year for the program) but I couldn't let myself give up. >.<
  2. My husband has the exact same issue actually! He starts having mild panic attacks when we take off in a plane and he prefers being the driver whenever we go places. He said the same thing as you about being uncomfortable with being not in control. We want to go to Europe someday so I'm not sure how that's going to work for him if we ever do it. x.x
  3. My very first flight was to visit my then-RS-bf-now-husband IRL. Get you a long distance relationship to motivate you. ๐Ÿ’ช But honestly, it's really not that bad imo. I find that the time in the sky is pretty relaxing. It's dealing with the commotion at the airports (security, layovers) that can be stressful to me.
  4. Never ordered. Just gimme some Biscoff cookies and I'm good to go. ๐Ÿ˜‹
  5. I was very unhappy with my original career choice which was chosen as a high schooler when I honestly didn't truly know what I wanted. I didn't finish college for that career because it didn't feel like the right one for me. My cousin once told me "Well there ain't no sense having a job where you're crying on the way to work." So I worked a few different jobs for years just to get by while I carefully thought about different career paths. I can't even put a number on how many careers I considered. I looked at how much education was needed for each of them, average salaries, etc. Then I deeply reflected on my personal strengths and weaknesses and what sort of aspects of my jobs at the time made me unhappy. I eventually went back to college at 28 after discovering my current career. I have been in it for 6 months and I do think it's been a wonderful fit for me. The pay is good and every day brings new challenges. No two days are the same which keeps it interesting for me. And it's a very fulfilling job for me since I feel like I'm making a difference in people's lives. I definitely recommend anyone who is unhappy with their situation to reflect like I did and see if they can find a better career because like you said, you spend sooo many hours per week at your job, so it's good to have one that you like! My husband noticed a difference in my behaviors right away and commented that he loves that I'm always happy when I come home from work as opposed to being stressed and miserable in the past.
  6. No. I've tried it before when I've had trouble sleeping but I found that it wakes me up. Silence seems to be the best approach for me.
  7. 7097 9612 5293 Haven't been as active lately but I'll try to pick back up on it haha. Other mobile games: Summoners War, Words with Friends MMO's - currently not subbed but I pop back in for a couple months here and there: WoW, FFXIV Other games: Valheim, Sea of Thieves, Overwatch Many others, but those have the most hours on them and were played within the past few months. Thought about picking up No Man's Sky, or Diablo again someday. Also played HotS but it's been a while for that one. Husband has been trying to pitch Destiny 2 to me so I might try that out. I also have Tabletop simulator on Steam which opens the door to playing many tabletop games online.
  8. Toss up between Spring and Fall because of the nice temperatures and beautiful colors of trees/plants. Going to favor Spring though because it makes me happy when the snow melts and winter is finally over lol.
  9. After I quit RS back then, my husband and I went to WoW and after just a few months, we found ourselves leading a guild even though we were still noobs lmao. We did this for about 6 years. We tried to carry over similar aspects from RS clanning like having an active Ventrilo, having forums, and chatting in guild chat in game, so I felt that the community aspect was about the same. We met several guildmates irl at Blizzcon and are still friends with people from back then. A major difference between RS clanning and WoW, from what I experienced, is that PvP seemed to be the focus for major RS clans while WoW was more PvE-oriented, although I'm sure competitive PvP guilds existed as well. So you didn't really have intense rivalries like you do in RS. Guilds competed for ranks on who was the first to complete a raid or whatever, but you weren't directly beating up the other guilds in fights, so it felt very different.
  10. American Football, hands down. Grew up watching NCAA football then later swapped over to NFL.
  11. Definitely my degree since I came from a family where most didn't even finish high school. I used to think that obtaining one was an unrealistic goal. Also owning a home is something I just never thought I'd accomplish but one day, it happened! Lastly, taking a leap of faith and moving 1000 miles away from my hometown in pursuit of happiness. I'm proud that I had the courage to do it because it drastically altered my path in life for the better.
  12. We are slowly developing green thumbs loll. Starting out small and will add to it each year. We had great success with tomatoes, basil, and cucumbers last year. I don't know if we'll be able to plant anything at the appropriate times this year since we'll be busy settling into the new house throughout May, but we'll see! I'm excited to see what perinneals they have at the new place. =]

    Kids

No and no. I'm okay with the whole "You never truly grow up if you don't have kids" thing. I love my life and don't want to throw a wrench in it from having kids. Why would it be a wrench? Because we have zero familial support. Both my husband and I lost our moms and we don't have reliable family close enough to help us watch the kids. So we'd either need to rely only on my income with him being a stay-at-home dad or put them in an expensive daycare. Either way, I'm not interested in living the paycheck-to-paycheck life again. That being said, we don't HATE kids. We hope to be aunt/uncle figures for our friends' kids and are already talking about how to make the new house kid-friendly so that they can visit without worries or so we can babysit over a weekend or whatever. I just don't think it's a good idea to have kids who won't have a family. We thought about adopting so we can skip ahead to when the kid can be unsupervised for a few hours here and there which would allow us to keep our jobs, but adoption is expensive. ๐Ÿ˜•
  14. Cheesy garlic biscuits from Red Lobster = amazing. Can also buy them from the store and bake them yourself. Heavenly.
  15. I don't really understand how you can devote yourself to multiple teams. Maybe people join multiple teams so that they are able to PvP more often? It must get tricky when your teams are fighting each other lol. Idc if people do it though since it doesn't really affect me.
  16. Ferrari 812 GS โค๏ธ I stayed at a Vegas hotel that had a Ferrari museum in it or w/e and damn I was in heaven.
  17. Funny how people think it's women yet the top 8 people who have received reacts are all men? So I voted men lol.
  18. I've had people tell me that I wasted my potential like they think I should've become a doctor since I maintained a 4.0 in grade school + college, but ugh. I never felt smart enough for that, and it's not really something that truly interested me anyway. The only "waste" for me is I wish I had been continuing to practice and hone my art & piano skills - but I don't think it's a *true* waste because I was forced to put those aside to pursue a career. Now that I have finally done so, I can pick those back up.. it's never too late. ๐Ÿ™‚
  19. Gotta add to this.. I feel old today. Why? It's a GORGEOUS day for.. going to the beach??? NO WAY. It's the perfect day to get some spring cleaning done outside and wash my car. Hellz yeah.
  20. Loved the original. Probably will check this one out too, looks pretty good =]
  21. Saying yes to snacks when people offer at work. We have too many people who like to bake ffs.
